Blues camps such as this one and the popular Horny Island Blues Workshop have been essential to fostering the blues amoung young muscians. As a bass player and fan of the blues I often look for opportunities around Ottawa to play the blues and jam with other kids. It can be challenging when others in my age group have little interest in the blues, and the 12 bar blues are considered a novelty.
