Detroit radio legend Ernie Durham—The Frantic One, retired from years of service to WJLB Radio, initiated a new program series at WDET-FM, Public Radio in Detroit, on Saturday, July 7, 1991, replacing the Blue Sensations show produced by John Sinclair every Saturday night from midnight to 2:00 am, immediately preceding Blues & Music After Hours with Famous Coachman. A box of cassettes containing the first 20 Ernie Durham shows on WDET was discovered in 2009 by Frank Bach in his garage on the east side of Detroit and the tapes were digitally transferred and edited for broadcast by John Sinclair for Radio Free Amsterdam and Detroit Life Radio.
