During the design conception, Ambassador Wladimir Murtinho was in charge of informing the architect about the needs that had to be addressed. The partnership was so successful that, up to today, no structural changes have been made to the building because they have not been necessary. The structural calculation, which allowed for the construction of an impressive main hall, free of columns, was carried out by the engineer Joaquim Cardoso. The Itamaraty Palace was conceived with the purpose of introducing Brazil to foreign visitors. It was built only with national materials, and their halls harbor worked by Brazilian or naturalized Brazilian artists exclusively, such as Athos Bulcão, Alfredo Volpi, Bruno Giorgi, Frans Krajcberg, Franz Weissmann, Iberê Camargo, Ione Saldanha, Maria Martins, Mary Vieira, Rubem Valentim, Sérgio de Camargo, and Tomie Ohtake. Airport Transportation BRASILIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – ITAMARATY PALACE/Hotel Sector The Juscelino Kubitschek Airport (Brasilia International Airport) is around 15 kilometers from the Itamaraty Palace and the Hotel Sector. Executive Bus To get to the central area of the capital with comfort, LINES 113, 113.1 and 113.2 run the route between the Airport and the North and South Hotel Sectors. The service is offered daily in an executive bus leaving every 30 minutes. The embarking occurs at the bus stop on the ground level, next to International Arrivals and Estapar Estacionamento ’s payment booth (private parking area of the airport). Operation: from Monday to Friday, from 6:30 am to midnight, leaving every 30 minutes Taxi Passengers may opt for regular taxis that serve the Brasilia Internacional Airport. In Terminal 1, the taxi stop is located on the Arrivals Level, on the access road in front of the exit of Domestic Arrivals. For radio taxi service, the pick-up point is also located on this same road, next to Estapar Estacionamento ’s payment booth. In Terminal 2, the pick-up point is located in front of the main entrance of the terminal. Services of ride-hailing apps Several services of ride-hailing apps for smartphones operate in the city of Brasília, such as: Uber, Cabify, 99Pop. They could be an alternative to traditional taxis. Interpretation There will be English and Portuguese interpretation channels during all sessions of the International Seminar on Science Diplomacy. Made up mostly of works from Brazilian artists of his time, the collection will be the basis for programmes for educators and guided visits for the general public. View from inside the piano room (all photos by me) The house in Cosme Velho, Rio de Janeiro, borders Floresta da Tijuca which is part of Parque Nacional da Tijuca, the world’s greatest urban forest. It was home to many famous parties, hosting both Brazilian and foreign political and artistic high society. 1 Roberto Marinho (1904-2003) was owner of Grupo Globo and one of the most powerful and influential men in 20th Century Brazil. Tal intermediação será feita a partir das obras do artista plástico brasileiro Vik Muniz, o qual trabalha com retratos de pessoas feitos com materiais intimamente ligados ao(s) sentido(s) almejados – mas não limitados – pelo artista. Além disso, Muniz tem como característica produzir obras abertas à interpretação por parte do expectador. Desse modo, pretende-se refletir acerca do sujeito de direito contemporâneo, que passa a ser visto na dimensão da coexistencialidade, sendo aos poucos construído pelo olhar do outro. ABSTRACT This paper aims to hold a dialogue between the visual arts and law, demonstrating their approaches and counterpoints and considering the notion of transdisciplinarity. Para tanto foram pesquisadas a biografia do arquiteto, sua metodologia projetual, a construção de Brasília e também a respeito da obra em questão. A metodologia utilizada foi a de pesquisa bibliográfica e a análise se deu pelos aspectos elencados por Carlos Leite Brandão e Bruno Zevi, para a análise morfológica e de contexto histórico, respectivamente. Notou-se que grande parte do acervo existente sobre Oscar Niemeyer encontra-se restrito a pesquisadores de pós-graduação e que a obra do arquiteto representa um Modernismo Brasileiro, singular ao ser comparado à arquitetura apresentada até então. RESUMO EM LÍNGUA ESTRANGEIRA This paper discusses the morphological characteristics and historical context of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady of Aparecida Oscar Niemeyer. Therefore researched the biography of the architect, his architectural design methodology, the construction of Brasilia and the Cathedral of Brasilia. The methodology used was the bibliographical research and analysis was the aspects listed by Carlos Leite Brandão and Bruno Zevi, for morphological analysis and historical context, respectively. It was noted that much of the existing acquis on Oscar Niemeyer is restricted to post- graduate researchers and the architect's work represents a Brazilian Modernism, unique when compared to the architecture presented so far.

Assim como meu pai, e claramente por influência dele, sempre cultivei particularmente minhas preferências e a cada exposição concebida pela Galeria Frente tenho tido o privilégio de prestar homenagens aos artistas que me entusiasmam há muito tempo, e que foram minhas escolhas nas primeiras oportunidades em que pude comprar peças para meu próprio acervo. Recentemente tive o privilégio de dispor de um grande número de peças de Frans Krajcberg vindas de Ernesto Wolf, amigo íntimo do artista desde os anos de 1950 e grande colecionador da sua obra. A importante e inédita coleção de Ernesto, que conta com obras produzidas entre os anos de 1950 e 1970, constitui a espinha dorsal da atual mostra produzida pela Galeria Frente “Frans Krajcberg, uma Homenagem, que trará 39 trabalhos diversificados entre a pouco conhecida pintura figurativa até as esculturas pigmentadas que o consagraram. Frans Krajcberg, hoje com 96 anos recém completados, em abril de 2017, dedica sua vida à proteção da natureza, guerreiro incansável que, apesar de recluso, faz seu grito ecoar por meio da sua produção artística, que incisivamente marca esta característica em todos os detalhes.
