ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS The 2008 Handbook for Community Board Members is based on a handbook originally prepared in 1978 by the Community Board Assistance Unit of the Mayor’s Office. It has been extensively expanded, rewritten and edited over the many years since that first edition.
