Received August 30, 2015; Accepted December 12, 2015; Epub December 15, 2015; Published December 30, 2015 Abstract: The effects of betel quid dependence (BQD) on biochemical changes remain largely unknown. Individu- als with impaired cognitive control of behavior often reveal altered neurochemicals in Magnetic Resonance Spec- troscopy Imaging (MRSI) and those changes are usually earlier than structural alteration. Here, we examined BQD individuals (n = 33) and age-, sex-, and education-matched healthy control participants (n = 32) in an 2D 1H-MRS study to observe brain biochemical alterations in the anterior cingulated cortex (ACC) associated with the severity of BQD and duration of BQD. In the bilateral ACC, our study found NAA/Cr were lower in BQD individuals compared to the healthy controls, Cho/Cr and Glx/Cr were higher in individuals with BQD compared to the healthy group, but increase was noted for mI/Cr in BQD individuals only in the left ACC. NAA/Cr ratios of the right ACC negatively cor- related with BQDS and duration, NAA/Cr ratios of the left ACC negatively correlated with duration, Glx/Cr ratios of the right ACC positively correlated with BQDS.

Joint International Mechanical, Electronic and Information Technology Conference (JIMET 2015) Assessment of Coastal Zone Ecological Carrying Capacity -- A Case Study of Haikou City Junkuo Cao1, Weiquan Wang2, Xueping Zhang1, *, Yuzhang1 and Ziqiang Luo1 1 Department of Information science technology, Hainan Normal University, Hainan, 571158, China 2 Department of Network management center, Hainan Medical University, Hainan, 571199, China *email: [email protected] Keywords: Coastal Zone, Ecological Carrying Capacity, Evaluation Index System, AHP Model. Abstract. Taking Haikou coastal zone as the study area, we use comprehensive evaluation method to select a number of support factors and limiting factors to determine the indicators of ecological carrying capacity. Combined the data of social economic development of Haikou, using analytic hierarchy process model, the whole evaluation system will be divided into three assessment levels, including the target layer, criterion layer and index layer. With regard to the weights of each level, we use the information entropy method to figure out automatically. Taking into account the specificity of coastal areas, as well as miniature changes in statistics process, evaluation results are grouped into five categories: little load, normal load, full load, overload, and red load. The evaluation results show that the ecological coastal zone carrying capacity of Haikou from the year 2008 to 2012 raised slightly with an average annual growth rate of 7.88%, the minimum carrying capacity is about 0.17, and the maximum carrying capacity is about 0.23.In recent years, Haikou ecological carrying capacity is still under the normal load, and it will be further expanded if further control depends on scientific data and information.

Huang et al. BMC Infectious Diseases (2018) 18:649 https://doi.org/10.1186/s12879-018-3569-8 CASEREPORT Open Access Multi-systemic melioidosis: a clinical, neurological, and radiological case study from Hainan Province, China Wei-yuan Huang1†, Gang Wu2†, Feng Chen1, Meng-meng Li3 and Jian-jun Li1* Abstract Background: Melioidosis is a tropical disease caused by Burkholderia pseudomallei (B. pseudomallei). It can infect any organ system and lead to multiple abscesses. A few studies reported that central nervous system (CNS) is also involved. We present a diabetic patient with multi-systemic melioidosis that affected the CNS, thorax, and spleen. The aim was to study the clinical and radiological features of melioidosis and enhance understanding of the disease. Case presentation: A 38-year-old male presented with cough and expectoration mixed with blood for several days. Chest computed tomography (CT) showed a patchy opacity in his left lung, and multiple low-density lesions in his spleen. After 10 days of antibiotics treatment, his clinical symptoms improved and he was discharged from the hospital. But 8 months later, the patient experienced sudden onset of left limb weakness and seizure and was re-admitted to the hospital. Brain CT indicated a low-density lesion over the right frontal lobe, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) indicated a well-enhanced lobulated lesion with multiple diffusion restriction areas in the lesion. He had a neuronavigation-guided open surgery but no malignancy was found. B. pseudomallei was cultured from the operative samples. After 4 months of systemic and intraventricular antibiotic administration treatment, he recovered complete consciousness with left hemiparesis.
