Kurdu- koff, arrived at Vollradisroda, Gorman^ (M 51/J 66; 1/250,000) at llifO hours Jl March 1948 to investigate. The burgermeistor of Dobrtischen and civilian Herr Lo renz at Vollradisroda were contacted and the cemetery records were'"examined. (See attached statement of Herr Lorenz and ex tract of cemetery records). It was reported that at about 1100 hrs on l6 Aug 19414- an American plane exploded in the air near the village of Vollradisroda (M 5l/J 66). One parachute was seen to open '• and the flyer reached the ground safely and was taken pri soner. Eight bodies were found in the vicinity of the plane crash. These bodies were picked up by the civilians of the village and buried in caskets in a common grave in the vil lage cemetery. The cemetery records show the names as appear on MACR #' 8[|.56 and the order in which they were buried (see attached extract of cemetery records) as well as ASN's of seven of the deceased.
