Úvod Můj záměr vede k problematice nových náboţenských hnutí (dále NNH). Od 90. let v českém (zprvu československém) prostředí NNH dlouhodobě vzbuzují (nejen mediální) pozornost. Neustálá aktuálnost této náboţenské oblasti mne přivedla k myšlence pokusit se podívat, jak je na NNH nahlíţeno aktéry bezpečnostní politiky. Tématem NNH se zabývá řada autorů z různých pohledů. V posledním desetiletí bylo v České republice vydáno několik publikací věnujících se současné religiozitě nejen na jejím území. Nejvíce prací vzniklo patrně v oblasti sociologie náboţenství. Jsou k dispozici práce Zdeňka R. Nešpora (2004, 2004a), Dušana Luţného (1997, 2004, 2008), Davida Václavíka (2007, 2010) a Milana Fujdy (2010). Náboţenství (nikoliv pouze NNH) z pohledu legislativy popisují Stanislav Přibyl (2007), Jiří R. Tretera (2002) a Petr Jäger (2006) a z pohledu politologie Dominika J. Ondráčková (2009) a Marek Suchánek (2003). Právě téma NNH v optice politologie (bezpečnostní politiky) mi daly největší impuls. Zejména práci D. Ondráčkové povaţuji za podnětnou, ale vidím v ní řadu problémů, které se zde pokusím aktualizovat, zasadit do kontextu a upřesnit. V práci se hovoří o náboţenském extremismu jako o hrozbě. K tomuto představuje umístění problematiky do rámce bezpečnostní politiky a podává přehled vybraných náboţenských skupin, s nimiţ byly řešeny nějaké problémy kvůli jejich postojům, názorům a aktivitám. Práce je pojata z pole politologie a já jsem přesvědčený o tom, ţe je zde obrovský prostor pro uplatnění religionistiky. A to z toho důvodu, ţe práce vůbec nezjišťuje, nezamýšlí se nad tím, proč je popisovaný vztah bezpečnostní politiky právě takový, jaký je. Proč je aktéry bezpečnostní politiky uţíván (v dnešní době negativní) pojem „sekta“ namísto korektnějšího označení náboţenská hnutí či náboţenské subjekty? Co je náplní tohoto pojmu? Jak se liší jeho náplň (význam) od prostředí sociologie? Co je důvodem těchto odlišností? Tato diplomová práce je rozdělena do 9 kapitol. V čtyřech jsou představeny a vysvětleny stěţejní termíny „bezpečnost“, „bezpečnostní politika“, „diskursivní ochrana“, „nová náboţenská hnutí“, „sekta/kult“ apod. Je zde představena diskursivní analýza jako optimální nástroj ke zkoumání diskursivní ochrany demokracie. Hlavní část metody je věnována zkoumání textů a je doplněna o rozhovory, pomocí nichţ budu textovou analýzu doplňovat. V praktické části jsem rozřadil zkoumané texty do třech částí (metodické, právnické, informativní) podle toho, jakému čtenáři jsou určené. Na závěr shrnuji zjištění ke dvěma otázkám, které jsem si stanovil, abych mohl odpovědět na hlavní otázku této práce, 6 která zní: Jaký je vztah aktérů bezpečnostní politiky státu ČR k NNH (a k antikultovním hnutím)? Zkoumané výpovědi se pokouším vyloţit tak, jak vznikaly ve své naléhavosti, co se od nich patrně očekávalo a jak vyznívají z úst aktérů bezpečnostní politiky České republiky v dějinném vývoji a úrovních. To vše, abych se pokusil odhalit pravidla jejich vzniku a podoby. Textová úprava vychází z mého postoje k tématu. Pokud se v textu objevují výrazy jako např. „sekta“, je slovo či větší větný celek vyznačen uvozovkami ze dvou důvodů. S termínem, jak je v kontextu výpovědi jednotlivých subjektů pouţit, buď nesouhlasím, nebo jsem jej do textu umístil já, ale je nezbytné vnímat takové slovo či výraz s rezervou (nikoliv absolutně). Kurzívou jsou vyznačené doslovné citace a části rozhovorů, jejichţ kompletní přepis je umístěn mezi přílohy na závěr celé práce. 2. Nová náboženská hnutí Religionistika jako kaţdá věda se snaţí uchopit a popsat jevy v maximální šíři své optiky. S tím jsou spojena mnohá úskalí a podobně to je i s terminologickým vymezením. Dalo by se říct, ţe co badatel, to vlastní taxonomické a typologické uchopení. Problémem terminologického vymezení se zabývá např. David Václavík v Sociologii nových náboženských hnutí a Břetislav Horyna v článku Nová religiozita a možnosti její religionistické reflexe (1994). Tento problém se promítá i do

    Reviewing the Discourse of ‘Spiritual Abuse’ Logical Problems & Unintended Consequences A report by the Evangelical Alliance Theology Advisory Group Foreword The Bible confirms that human beings have been abusing one another throughout history. From the days of Noah, when the ‘wickedness of humanity was great’ and ‘every inclination of people’s hearts was evil’ (Gen. 6:5), to Jesus’ condemnation of toxic religious leadership (Matt. 23:4, 23), the sinfulness of fallen people has caused them to assault, exploit, humiliate and bully others, in violation of God’s law and the gospel of Christ. The Bible also indicates that the church should be vigilant about such abusive behaviour, and should instead model holistic community life based on mutual respect and care, after the example of Jesus himself (Phil. 2:1-11). This report makes it clear that the Evangelical Alliance UK is deeply committed to fostering healthy churches in which people can thrive, free from abuse. In our own time, sexual abuse of children and sexual harassment of women in particular have been spotlighted in high-profile scandals within and beyond the church. In what follows, we acknowledge these as major issues, and cite key sources related to them. The focus of the report, however, is on another area of abuse variously described as Emotional or Psychological Abuse, and on the occurrence of such abuse in contexts identified as religious. Some have sought to define this area of abuse as ‘Spiritual Abuse’. The report, however, shows that ‘Spiritual Abuse’ is a seriously problematic term partly because of its own inherent ambiguity, and also because attempts by some to embed it within statutory safeguarding discourse and secular law would be unworkable in practice, potentially discriminatory towards religious communities, and damaging to inter-faith relations.

    chapter 11 The Great Satanism Scare, 1980–1994 From Anti-cultism to Anti-satanism Preceded by some significant but isolated episodes in the 1970s, a great Sa- tanism scare exploded in the 1980s in the United States and Canada and was subsequently exported towards England, Australia, and other countries. It was unprecedented in history. It surpassed even the results of Taxil’s propaganda, and has been compared with the most virulent periods of witch hunting.1 The scare started in 1980 and declined slowly between 1990, when the McMartin trial was concluded without convictions, and 1994, when official British and American reports denied the real existence of ritual satanic crimes. Particu- larly outside the u.s. and u.k., however, its consequences are still felt today. The year 1980 is important for the publication of the bible of this anti- Satanist movement, Michelle Remembers.2 Obviously, however, the great Satanism scare was not generated by one book. We cannot understand the anti-Satanism of the 1980s without looking at the anti-cult movement of the 1970s. Alternative religious movements such as Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons always had their opponents, motivated by both religious and politi- cal reasons. In the late 1960s and 1970s, America, followed by Europe, saw the sudden growth of a new wave of religious movements: Scientology, the Unifi- cation Church, the Hare Krishna, and the Children of God (who later changed their name into The Family). A significant number of young people, not only American, left their families and prospects of career to work freely and full time for the new movements.

    Mormonism as "Cult": The Limits of Lexical Polemics As missionaries in Switzerland, we were frequently met at the door with the question, “Kommen Sie von einer Sekte?” (“Are you from a Sekte?”). Sekte, we soon learned, was the popular and even ofcial label for our denomination, as well as for all others not recognized as Landeskirchen, or state churches.1 The technical distinction between the two groups was simple: State churches could collect the “church tax” through a state tax ofce—somewhat like tithes being withheld by the IRS.2 But the difference in the popular mind made by this distinction was far weightier. Members of a Sekte were effectively relegated to second-class citizenship in a land of state churches. Because of the word’s negative connotations, to be afliated with a Sekte required a quality of courage, conviction, and indifference to the opinions of one’s neighbors that is hard for most Americans to imagine. Despite occasional protestations of the innocuousness of the term, the looks of horror that were elicited when we (in mock innocence) asked someone if he or she belonged to a Sekte suggested that the word did indeed have a strong—and strongly negative—emotional charge to it.3 Perhaps it was this use of the word Sekte in the service of religious polemics that has made us more keenly aware, since our missions, of a similar use of the term “cult” (particularly by fundamentalist Christians) to describe a large number of religious groups, representing a very wide range of teaching and practice from Eckankar to Mormons, from the Healthy Happy Holy Organization to Christian Scientists.

Unitarian Universalism (UU) draws from many sources: • Direct experience of that transcending mystery and wonder, affirmed in all cultures, which moves us to a renewal of the spirit and an openness to the forces which create and uphold life; • Words and deeds of prophetic women and men which challenge us to confront powers and structures of evil with justice, compassion, and the transforming power of love; • Wisdom from the world’s religions which inspires us in our ethical and spiritual life; 1566 • Jewish and Christian teachings which call us to respond to God’s love by loving our neighbors as ourselves; • Humanist teachings which counsel us to heed the guidance of reason and the results of science, and warn us against idolatries of the mind and spirit. • Spiritual teachings of earth-centered traditions which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature.
