Oldenzijl verwijst naar een oude sluis. Het dorp is ontstaan aan een dijk en ligt ten zuiden van Uithuizermeeden. Oldenzijl is een rustiek dorp in een prachtig weids landschap. Er wonen nog altijd ruim 100 inwoners. Oosteinde ligt tussen Roodeschool en de gemeentegrens met de gemeente Delfzijl. Het dorp valt onder Roodeschool en ligt nabij de Eemshavenweg. Oosteinde, een dorpje met ca. 120 inwoners, is van oudst het oostelijke deel van Roodeschool. In Oosteinde staat de voormalige hervormde kerk uit 1846. Naast de kerk staat de pastorie van de protestantse gemeente Roodeschool. Oosternieland ligt ten zuiden van Roodeschool en telt ongeveer 150 inwoners. RA. De 1e afslag rechts en de Ubbegalaan inslaan. 4. RA. Het voetpad rechts inslaan en op de t-splitsing van voetpaden rechtsaf slaan. Bij de kruising rechtdoor de De Klaas Wiersumsweg inslaan. 8. RA. Bij de dijk rechtsaf de Dijksweg inslaan. 9. LA. Ca. 50m na de Derk Luddesweg aan uw rechterhand links de onverharde weg over de dijk inslaan. Fietsers gaan hier rechtdoor en gaan daarna rechtsaf het voetpad voor Dijksweg 45 rechtsaf inslaan daarna verder naar punt 14 van deze route. 10.RA. Na de andere kant van de dijk maakt dit onverhard pad een bocht naar links kies dan het pad rechtsaf net voorbij de sloot. 11.RA. Bij het volgend pad rechtsaf de onverharde weg naar de wijk inslaan.

Mijn academische reis begon bij de bacheloropleiding Kunsten, Cultuur en Media. Al snel merkte ik dat mijn interesse vooral uitging naar de context van het cultuurgoed, met in het bijzonder het landschap als context. Ik kreeg daarbij steeds meer aandacht voor het cultuurlandschap dat, net als de kunsten en (immateriële) cultuur, een belangrijke spil vormt in de identiteitsvorming van gebieden en bewoners. Dit heeft uiteindelijk geleid tot de keuze voor de richting Landschapsgeschiedenis binnen de masteropleiding Kunst- en Cultuurwetenschappen. Verschillende gebieden binnen Nederland zijn tijdens deze masteropleiding onder mijn aandacht gekomen.

    Nr. 233862 11 september GEMEENTEBLAD 2020 Officiële uitgave van de gemeente Het Hogeland Vervolg gemeentenieuws 9 september 2020 Kansters en gemeente in gesprek over toekomst Kantens Kantens is het eerste dorp in de gemeente Het Hogeland waar de versterkingsopgave grootschalig opgepakt wordt. Dat geldt voor particuliere woningen en 46 huurwoningen van De Delthe. Inwoners kregen vorige week meer informatie over de versterkingsaanpak en gebiedsontwikkeling van het dorp. Gebiedsontwikkeling KAW architecten presenteerde de vernieuwde ‘Identiteitsstudie Kantens’, met daarin een actuele schets van Kantens. Dit document gebruikt zij als startpunt. Tijdens een serie ver- volgbijeenkomsten die nog dit jaar worden georganiseerd praten geïnteresseerde inwoners in kleinere groepen verder over de gebiedsontwikkeling. Versterking of sloop/nieuwbouw Woningstichting De Delthe beantwoordde vragen van huurders. Nog niet duidelijk is of het versterking of sloop/nieuwbouw wordt. ‘De gesprekken met de Nationaal Coördinator Groningen (NCG) hierover zijn de komende weken. Het is afwachten wat daaruit komt. Zodra we het weten, plannen we een bewonersavond in’ aldus Rinze Kramer, directeur van De Delthe. Ook waren er dorpsgenoten die nog op een versterkingsadvies wachten. Zij konden bij de NCG terecht voor de status van dit advies. Daarnaast liet NCG de plattegrond zien van de tijdelijke woningen, die aan de Bredeweg komen. Veilig wonen Ook aanwezig waren bur- gemeester Bolding, wethouder Ruimtelijke Ordening Dijkhuis en gebiedswethouder Rutgers. Rutgers: ‘Er komt veel op bewoners af. Sommigen verhuizen naar een tijdelijke woning. Dan wordt hun huis gesloopt en begint de nieuwbouw van hun huis. Dat is nogal wat; het is dan ook erg belangrijk dat be- woners zich weer veilig voelen in hun nieuwe huis en buurt.
