Afternoon After school, minibuses will depart from the car park area next to the Science Block opposite the Gatehouse Reception, at 4.05pm and 4.15pm. If these are full, a minibus will return to collect any remaining students. In addition, there will be a departure at 5.40pm (every day) to the train station leaving from Gatehouse car park area. By Car We are less than 10 minutes away from Junction 9 of the M25, which makes reaching us by car very easy. We are also just off the main routes to Epsom and Leatherhead. The safety of our pupils, staff and visitors in and around our busy school site is of the utmost importance and is continually under review. Kelvedon Hatch Last week the Senior Able pupil group visited the government nuclear bunker at Kelvedon Hatch.The bunker was designed to accommodate up to 600 military and civilian personnel, including the Prime Minister, whose collective task it would have been to organise the survival of the population in the awful aftermath of a nuclear war. The bunker was in use until 1994. The boys entered the bunker via a simple bungalow, just inside there was a 120m long tunnel which led to the blast doors and main bunker.
