    210 Hematite mineralization at Bukit Lop. Chaah. Johor YUSRI ZAKARIAH & MOHD SHAFEEA LEMAN Jabatan Geologi, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Several iron and barite mines were reported by Bean (1969) to have' operated in northwest Johor, including the Sri Medan, Bukit Lop, Bukit Kepong and Bukit Tui mines. In 1986, the Bukit Lop iron mine was reopened by the Matahari Mining Sdn. Bhd. The mine which is located on the southeastern spur of Bukit Lop ridge, about 10 km southwest of Chaah Town exposed some details about the geology of the mineralization discussed in this paper. The main iron ore deposit occurs both as primary and secondary deposits. The primary mineralization occurred in a massive unit of andesitic volcanic unit of the Upper Mesozoic continental deposit known as the Ma'Okil Formation (Loganathan, 1978). The maximum thickness of the ore bodies reaches up to 20 m thick with concordant as well as discordant nature of displacement. From the first (old) adit, the main ore body is discordant to the general strike of the host rock (Bean, 1969; Zakaria Hussain, 1994) while from the second (new) adit the main ore body is concordant to the strike of the host rock. The secondary iron ore deposit occurred as basal conglomerate of the conglomerate unit overlying the andesite. Mohd Shafeea Leman & Yusri Zakariah (in press) considered that these iron conglomerate beds represent a series of alluvial fans deposited along a faulted andesitic volcanic rocks. The main ore deposit comprise of hematite with traces of magnetite (Bean, 1969). Minor baryte occurrences were also reported from this locality (Bean, 1969; Zakaria Hussain, 1994).

    Laporan Draf RANCANGAN TEMPATAN DAERAH SEGAMAT 2030 1.0 PENDAHULUAN Rancangan Tempatan Daerah Segamat 2030 ini disediakan untuk dua (2) Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan (PBT) iaitu Majlis Perbandaran Segamat (MPS) dan Majlis Daerah Labis (MDL). Sebagaimana yang diperuntukkan di bawah Seksyen 16 (1), Akta Perancangan Bandar dan Desa 1976 (Akta 172), dokumen ini merupakan dokumen rasmi yang akan mengemukakan cadangan-cadangan pembangunan, di samping menyediakan mekanisma kawalan pembangunan bagi membantu proses pembangunan di bawah pentadbiran setiap PBT di dalam Daerah Segamat. 1.1 KAWASAN RANCANGAN TEMPATAN 1.0 PENDAHULUAN Kawasan Rancangan Tempatan (RT) meliputi keseluruhan Daerah Segamat yang terletak di bahagian utara Negeri Johor. Daerah ini bersempadan dengan enam buah daerah iaitu Daerah Muar dan Kluang, Johor di bahagian selatan, Daerah Tampin, Negeri Sembilan di bahagian barat laut, Daerah Rompin, Pahang di bahagian timur laut, Daerah Batu Pahat di bahagian tenggara dan Daerah Tangkak di bahagian barat. Keseluruhan Daerah Segamat adalah seluas 286,656 hektar (Rujuk Rajah 1.1). Daerah Segamat merangkumi 11 buah mukim iaitu Buloh Kasap, Jabi, Gemas, Sermin, Sungai Segamat, Pogoh, Gemereh, Jementah, Labis, Bekok dan Chaah. Bagi kawasan pentadbiran Majlis Daerah Labis (MDL) pula hanya merangkumi 3 mukim sahaja iaitu Labis, Bekok dan Chaah.     Collaboration, Christian Mission and Contextualisation: The Overseas Missionary Fellowship in West Malaysia from 1952 to 1977 Allen MCCLYMONT A thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements of Kingston University for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in History. Submitted June 2021 ABSTRACT The rise of communism in China began a chain of events which eventually led to the largest influx of Protestant missionaries into Malaya and Singapore in their history. During the Malayan Emergency (1948-1960), a key part of the British Government’s strategy to defeat communist insurgents was the relocation of more than 580,000 predominantly Chinese rural migrants into what became known as the ‘New Villages’. This thesis examines the response of the Overseas Missionary Fellowship (OMF), as a representative of the Protestant missionary enterprise, to an invitation from the Government to serve in the New Villages. It focuses on the period between their arrival in 1952 and 1977, when the majority of missionaries had left the country, and assesses how successful the OMF was in fulfilling its own expectation and those of the Government that invited them. It concludes that in seeking to fulfil Government expectation, residential missionaries were an influential presence, a presence which contributed to the ongoing viability of the New Villages after their establishment and beyond Independence. It challenges the portrayal of Protestant missionaries as cultural imperialists as an outdated paradigm with which to assess their role. By living in the New Villages under the same restrictions as everyone else, missionaries unconsciously became conduits of Western culture and ideas. At the same time, through learning local languages and supporting indigenous agency, they encouraged New Village inhabitants to adapt to Malaysian society, while also retaining their Chinese identity.

Email: [email protected] ABSTRACT Over years of development, Berop River that runs through urban area of Tanjong Malim, Perak has become a complicated channel network. Some parts of river are culverted, some channelised with concrete, while other remains as natural stream. The river has also become the receiving water body for the town urban drainage systems and therefore it has become extremely difficult to separate the river from the rest of drainage system. InfoWorks Collection System (CS) is used to model this complex stormwater system and to analyse flood issues haunting the area. The software provides a platform for urban catchment hydrology and hydraulic simulation using one integrated and manageable database. Present study also applied various GIS application made available in InfoWorks CS to aid in data entry, data management and result presentation.

    KENYATAAN AKHBAR KEMENTERIAN KESIHATAN MALAYSIA SITUASI SEMASA JANGKITAN PENYAKIT CORONAVIRUS 2019 (COVID-19) DI MALAYSIA 13 OGOS 2021 Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) ingin memaklumkan status terkini kes COVID-19 di Malaysia sehingga 13 Ogos 2021 (jam 12:00 tengah hari); • Kes sembuh : 17,025 kes (1,110,528 kes kumulatif, 81.4%); • Kes baharu : 21,468 kes (1,363,683 kes kumulatif); • Kes import : 25 kes (18 warganegara, 7 bukan warganegara) • Kes tempatan : 21,443 kes [17,584 warganegara (82.0%); 3,859 bukan warganegara (18.0%)]; • Kes aktif : 241,187 kes; • Kes yang memerlukan rawatan di Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU): 1,075 kes; • Kes memerlukan bantuan pernafasan : 537 kes; • Kes kematian : 277 kes [11,968 kes kumulatif, 0.88%; 222 warganegara, 55 bukan warganegara; 96 kes BID (65 warganegara; 31 bukan warganegara)]; • Jumlah kluster : 4,120 kluster; • Jumlah kluster baharu : 41 kluster; • Jumlah kluster yang telah tamat : 2,827 kluster; dan • Jumlah kluster aktif : 1,293 kluster. Daripada 21,468 kes harian yang dilaporkan pada hari ini, sebanyak 670 kes (3.1 peratus) adalah daripada kategori 3, 4 dan 5. Manakala sebanyak 20,798 kes (96.9 peratus) lagi adalah terdiri daripada kategori 1 dan 2. Ini adalah berdasarkan keadaan klinikal kes semasa baharu didiagnosa COVID-19. Ada di antara kes kekal di kategori yang sama sepanjang tempoh jangkitan, namun ada juga yang berubah status kesihatan kes sama ada bertambah baik ke kategori lebih rendah atau merosot ke kategori lebih tinggi. Secara keseluruhan, hanya 2,703 kes (12.6 peratus) daripada jumlah kes yang dilaporkan pada hari ini telah lengkap di vaksinasi (iaitu yang telah mendapat vaksinasi dua minggu selepas dos kedua).
