According to Carter’s 16-page lawsuit, although she worked between 70 and 120 hours each week, she only received $300 a week payment during the entire three-year duration of her employment, which ended in February 2019, when she was reportedly fired. Carter is now living in a homeless shelter. The suit alleges the family “violated state and federal wage provisions and noncompliance with notice/record-keeping requirements, among other things.”

Lucy McBath is a mother, wife, businesswoman, activist for social justice and now Congresswoman in Georgia’s 6th District after a stun- ning victory in November of 2018. After a 30-year career with Delta Air Lines, her second career of activism and politics has focused on reform that will make our commu- nities safer and better for every American of every background.
