Great Alternative Ideas for ing Spr Break!!! Stephanie Juergens South Bureau Chief

When one thinks of Spring Break in Florida, the first thing that comes to mind is the warm, sandy beaches and the wild parties that go on here. This means that year after year, people spend all of their time at these beaches, and eventually they grow tired of doing the same old thing. What these people fail to realize is that Florida has so much more to offer during Spring Break than just partying on the beach all day.

A general example of an opportunity for fun at the beach is to go and do some water activities. Now, there is a huge umbrella of different kinds of water activities for you to participate in, so you are in no way limited.

One kind of water activity that is fun, exciting, and popular is snorkeling. Snorkeling allows you to see all of the beautiful fish and environments that hide beneath the surface of the ocean. And if you prefer to get even closer to the underwater world, then scuba diving is another great way to guarantee you the opportunity to do so. With scuba diving, you get the experience of feeling what its like to breathe under water and swim with the fish. Locations such as the Keys, as well as Sanibel Island are the perfect destinations for these kinds of activities.

If you’d rather get away from the beach, then camping is a great way to enjoy your spring break. For example, you could pack up your camping essentials, such as tent, food, water, ect., and head up to Ocala National forest and spend a week in nature. You’d have the opportunity to experience living off the land. If you’d rather keep it to a one day thing, you could always just take a trip to the Everglades and canoe or kayak through the swamp. It’s pretty scary during the moment when you paddle right past an alligator, but its definitely something that you will never forget.

All in all, Florida has a wide variety of different opportunities for adventure and memorable spring breaks. Whether you want to go to the beach, explore the Everglades, or camp out in Ocala, the possibilities are endless. So get out of your normal routine, try something new and make the most of your next Spring Break!
