SAVE THE DATE! St. John the Baptist’s Fall Women’s Retreat will be held September 25th-27th Plagal of the First Mode / 6th Morning Gospel at the Tilikum retreat center in Newberg. This year’s speaker will be our own Fr. Theodore Dorrance. St. Paisios was born July 25, 1924, in Farasa, and was given the name Arsenios Details coming soon! by St. Arsenios the Cappadocian, who baptized him,and foretold his monastic future. During the civil war in following World War II, Arsenios served as a radio operator. He was continued from the front page: noted for his bravery, self-sacrifi ce and moral righteousness. By 1950, he had provided for suffering people of God. He received them all day long, dedicating the night to God in prayer, his sisters’ future and was free to begin his long-desired monastic vocation. He arrived on vigil, and spiritual struggle.
