The Scottish Ministers (hereinafter referred to as “the acquiring authority”) in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 103 to 108 inclusive as read with section 110(2) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 hereby make the following compulsory purchase order- 1. This Order may be cited as the A9 and A96 Trunk Roads (Inshes to Smithton) Compulsory Purchase Order 201[ ]. 2. Subject to the provisions of this Order, the acquiring authority are hereby authorised to purchase compulsorily for the purpose of improving the A96 Aberdeen – Inverness Trunk Road and the M9/A9 Edinburgh – Stirling – Thurso Trunk Road by constructing the new Inshes to Smithton Road between Inshes in the vicinity of Culloden, Inverness-shire and Smithton Roundabout, Inverness, the land and servitude rights which are described in the Schedule hereto and are numbered and shown delineated in red and coloured pink and blue respectively, on the map signed with reference to this Order and marked “Map referred to in the A9 and A96 Trunk Roads (Inshes to Smithton) Compulsory Purchase Order 201[ ]”. 3. Item Chief Officers Group – 9 November 2018 Report COG No 18/18 Report on SDS activity in support of skills in Highland Council Area November 2018 Skills Development Scotland (SDS) SDS is the national skills agency and across Scotland, we support individual to build their career management, work-based learning and employability skill, throughout their career journey, from school, into further learning opportunities and in the workplace. We use skills intelligence to help to inform career decisions of people at all stages of their careers, so that they are well placed to take up opportunities arising in the economy. We target delivery of support to those who need it most, ensuring all individuals are enabled to achieve their full potential. We work with employers and employer groups on national sectoral, regional, local and individual basis, working alongside them to recognise and articulate their current and future skills needs and to engage the skills system to ensure it deliver provision that meets needs. Career Information Advice and Guidance (CIAG) Our CIAG service focus on equipping the current and future workforce with Career Management Skills (CMS) they will require to achieve their potential throughout their working life. There are five careers centres in the Highland area, geographically spread to provide service across the large local authority area. We currently employ approximately 43 staff in a variety of CIAG roles and service delivery. SDS delivered 27,649 CIAG engagements with 12,952 individuals in the Highland Council area between April 2017 and June 2018. • Services in schools – CMS and Career Education Standard o May 18 - Held CPD event for school SMT’s around Career Education Standards – looked at current practice and developments.
