Top price of the day was 200p/kg for a British Blue x steer from Messrs W.H. & L.M Williams & Son of Allet purchased by David Wilton of Wilton Family Butchers, St Columb. Top price at £1,256 was from the same farm for a Limousin x steer selling to Trevarthens of Roskrow. Top price heifer was 194p/kg for a South Devon from Messrs P. & M.R. Biddick of St Columb purchased by Harvey Bros. Hooper of Castle-an-Dinas, St Columb purchased by David King of Exeter. A run of Aberdeen Angus heifers for Messrs K.L. & C.D. Rowe of Zelah sold to a top price of 128p/kg. CULL COWS Auctioneer – Andrew Body Cull cow numbers remain steady but averages are being affected by a high proportion of straight out of the parlour or plainer type cows both dairy and beef. A heavy Limousin cow saw the top price at 130p/kg and value at £1,274 for Mr R.T. Dunn of Par purchased by Dawn West Devon of Hatherleigh. A heavy Friesian for Messrs H.M., C.S. & M.A. Rowe of Ruan Minor sold to a top price and value for dairy cows at 95p/kg and £770 again purchased by Dawn West Devon. 23 Beef & 27 Dairy Cows – leading prices Limousin x to 130p (980kg) for Mr. R.T. OTM PRIME CATTLE An entry of 20 OTM prime cattle from Messrs W.H. Pengelly & Son of Praze saw Friesian x steers top at 139p/kg to David King of Exeter. A run of OTM heifers for the same vendor sold to 136p/kg purchased by David Ellis of Lelant. CULL COWS A small entry of cull cows sold to a top price of 88p/kg for a Friesian cow from Messrs R., N.W.G. & P.J. Worden of Gumwalloe bought by David Ellis of Lelant. A run of beef cows for Messrs H. Dunstan & Son of Mabe, Penryn.
