Adams, Sandra Sue 1940-2006 Graveside service for Sandra Sue Adams, 66, of Decatur was Sunday, Nov. 19, at Long Branch. Cathi Neal and Mike Godsey officiated. Adams died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, in Decatur. Born July 22, 1940, in Carbon to Clinton Coy Milford and Minnie J. Evans Morgan, she was an administrative assistant. She is survived by her mother, Minnie J. Evans Morgan of Cleburne; a daugther, Terri Adams of Denton; two sons, Clint Adams of Bridgeport and John E. Adams Jr. of Perrin; two sisters, Cathi Neal of Paradise and LaNell Adams of Woodberry; and a grandson, Taylor Adams of Decatur. Published Thursday, November 23, 2006 Anderson, Ervin Jasper, Jr. 1957-2006 Graveside service for Ervin Jasper Anderson Jr., 48, of Sunset was Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Cumby Cemetery, north of Chico. The Rev. Thomas E. Clark officiated. Anderson died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, in Park Springs. Born Sept. 17, 1957, in Fort Worth, he was a construction worker and a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin J. and Willie L. Anderson; two sisters, Rebecca Bridges and Brenda Dingler; two nephews, Robert Anderson and Clint Bagwell; and two nieces, Lynn Long and Dora Bagwell. He is survived by a sister, Lovedia Ford of Sunset; two brothers, Lloyd Anderson and wife, Peggy, of Rhome, and William Anderson of Sunset; and numerous nieces and nephews. Published Thursday, August 17, 2006 Anderson, Luther M. 1914-2006 Funeral for Luther M. Anderson, 91, of Keller was Friday, March 17, in Hurst. Jim Hackney of Heritage Church of Christ officiated. Burial followed at Paradise Cemetery. Anderson died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, in Keller. He was born born March 20, 1914, in Fort Worth, to Fred and Dora Dudley Anderson. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Faye “Polly” Anderson; three sons, Ray Anderson and wife, Cathy, David Anderson and wife, Donna, and Charley Anderson and wife, Dinah, all of Fort Worth; two daughters, Beverly Spradlin and husband, Joe, of Springtown and Sandy Richards and husband, Dennis, of Fort Worth; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Ima Anderson, Peggy Anderson and Dorthy Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. Published Sunday, March 19, 2006 Archer, Abbie F. 1923-2006 Memorial service for Abbie F. Archer, 82, of Lefors was to be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa. The Rev. Lewis Ellis was to officiate. Burial was to follow at Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors. Archer died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, in Amarillo. Born Oct. 18, 1923, in Ranger, she was a homemaker who married John J. Archer on May 27, 1946, in Pampa. She was a Baptist and a member of the Moose Lodge in Pampa where she was a post senior regent. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998 and a brother, Floyd A. Turner Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ince of Alvord and Sherry A. Gerre Joiner will officiate. Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. Ashlock died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in Grand Prairie. She was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Alvord to Virgil and Cora Tow. She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by two sons, Ricky Poteet of Decatur and Ralph Ashlock of Mansfield; three daughters, Melinda Taylor and Shirley Hon, both of Grand Prairie, and Barbara Cruz of Longview; three brothers, Earl Tow of Saginaw, Elvis Tow of Granbury, and J.C. Tow of Arlington; a sister, Betty Baker of Arlington; and 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Askey died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, in Denton. Born September 18, 1931, in Marlin to Thomas and Nola Johnson, Askey was a seamstress. She married Vernon Douglas Askey on August 9, 1987, in Decatur. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Johnson and a sister, Ludie Woodward. She is survived by her husband; four sons, Lynn Oates of Abilene, Kenneth Oates of Oklahoma, Lavoy Oates and wife, Barbara, of Eulogy and James Askey and wife, Melissa, of Fort Worth; a daughter, Karen Singletary and husband, Thurman, of Walnut Springs; two brothers, Herbert Johnson, and wife, Margaret, of Arkansas, and Mitchell Johnson and wife Marsha of Colorado; and six grandchildren, Jennifer, Tad, Jody, Wesley, Cory and Renee. Published Sunday, March 12, 2006 Austin, Don, Sr. 1935-2006 Funeral for Don Austin Sr., 71, of Bridgeport will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. The Rev. James Arrington and Joey Vick will officiate. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at D/FW National Cemetery in Dallas. Family visitation was to be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Austin died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, in Bridgeport. Born June 20, 1935, in Springtown, he retired from the U.S. Navy where he was a gunners mate. He married LaRae (Hall) Austin on July 9, 1989, in Bridgeport. He was a member of the Family Worship Center. He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Austin; a brother, Woody Austin; and a grandson, Don Austin III. He is survived by his wife; a son, Don E. Austin Jr. and wife, Sandra, of Chico; two step-sons, Jeff Struthers and Cliff Coan; a daughter, Eva Dee Lorenz of Rio Linda, Calif.; two step-daughters, Lera Calhoun and husband, Dean, and Kay Weaver and husband, Johnny, all of Katy; his mother, Sue Smith; a brother, Ted Austin; two sisters, Mary Ann Austin and Evelyn Austin; and 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Born July 14, 1936, in Corrigan to Tom and Lerah (Woltz) Hall, she was a retired business owner and a member of Family Worship Center Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Chuck Coan; her husband of 17 years, Don Austin; and a son, Charles Ray Coan. She is survived by three daughters, Becky Vasquez and her husband, David, of Bridgeport, Kay Weaver and her husband, Johnny, and Lera Calhoun and her husband, Dean, all of Katy; a son, Cliff Coan and his wife, Tessa, of Eugene, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Teri, Stephen, Jennifer, Lacey, Stephanie, Taylor, Amber, Garrett, Jerrod and Dayton; and three great-grandchildren, Emily, Andrew and Tristan. Bailey died April 5, 2006, in Plainview. She was born April 29, 1947, in Matador, to Earl and Nora Meacham Buchanan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Joe Bailey; her father; a brother, Lee Buchanan; and a granddaughter, Kristen Nicole Bailey. She is survived by her mother; two daughters, Misty Cantu of Plainview and Tammy Beaudert of Cape Coral, Fla.; one son, Kurt Bailey of Bridgeport; one sister, Joan Martin of Amarillo; one brother, Lynn Buchanan; and four grandchildren, Cal Smith, Courtney Cantu, Christian Cantu and Philip Beaudert. Ty Lovell will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville. Ballenger died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, in Bridgeport. Born March 25, 1922, in Kansas City, Kan., he married Wilma Marshall on Aug. 4, 1956, in Kansas City. He retired as a switchman for the Union Pacific Railroad and served in the U. S. Navy on the USS Saratoga during WWII. He was a member of the Crossroads Church, and he lived most of his life in Kansas City, later moved to Stephenville, and was presently living in Bridgeport. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Donna Valdez and husband, Marty, of Bridgeport, Madeline Ballenger of Kansas City, and Sylvia Balke and husband, Otto, of Warsaw, Mo.; four sons, Lewis Starkey and wife, Pam, of South Dakota, Chris Ballenger of Pennsylvania, Bill Edward Ballenger of Montana, and Larry A. Ballenger of Ohio; a sister, Darlene Maring of Boyd; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
