Congratulations to the Senior Class of 1983. As Senior Class President, I am proud to be a part of this graduating class who show enthusiasm and antici pation for what lies ahead.

We have matured and learned together over the past four years at Carteret High School. Along with this, we have gathered many memories which will never be forgotten. We have had good and bad times; in the future, when we reflect back, we will realize that this was one part of our growing up.

True happiness is hard to achieve in this life, but I hope this class will re ceive more than its share. Good luck in your future endeavors.

The 1982 Carteret High School football team played tough and practiced hard, but the team’s lack of Varsity experience produced a record of two wins and six losses. Coach Robinson stressed three goals for the Ramblers to field a competitive team, to win Coach Robinson as many games as possible, and to teach each player the value of hard work and team play. V Although the Ramblers did not win as many games as expected, many of the Ramblers gained valuable experience during this sea son. Keeping the team spirit high throughout the season were our captains Al Amatucci. Keith Green. Mike Hronich. and Ed Hojecki.

The 1982 Rambler football season will close with the Ramblers battling against Carteret’s rival Perth Amboy on Thanksgiving Day. Much success is wished to all the returning Ramblers and coaches in 1983.

Under the direction of coach Art Shadell. the Varsity Boys' Team finished the season with a record of 7-5. The Varsity Girls' Team had their finest season ever as they finished the season with a 9-0 record. Coached by Bob Donnelly, the girls became Carteret High’s first Bicentennial Conference Champions.

The Boys' Varsity will lose only Ed Nelan and Don Ryan to graduation, while the Girls’ Varsity will lose five top runners - Stacy Pollock, Debbie Daly, Cheryl Weigmann. Evelyn Donnelly, and Joann Selvaggi. Both teams, however, are looking forward to continued success as Gary Zemanovich. Juan Tubio. Steve Szyszkiewicz. Tim Windos. Vince Vacca, and Paul Rojek return to the Boys’ Varsity Team next season.

Returning to the Girls’ Varsity will be Diane Deladvitch. Patty Butynes, Joann Gurevitch. Gina Mastroviti. Kathy McComb. Ann Marie Ryan, and Cosena Com losan.

The members of the Carteret High School winter track team are a group of male and female athletes who work quite hard under adverse conditions and receive comparatively little of the recognition they deserve. Regard less of cold, rain, and snow, winter track athletes continue to run, jump, hurdle, and throw during practices and in meets. These dedicated indivi duals include nine seniors: Debbie Daly. Ed Nelan. Stacy Pollock, Diane Reynolds, Joann Rustemeyer, Don Ryan. Joann Selvaggi. Cheryl Wieg- mann, and Beth Yustak. The main purpose of the Hu man Relations Club is to recog nize differences between eth nic and racial groups and to deal with these differences. The phrase "different isn't wrong” is probably the best way to describe this philos ophy according to advisor Miss M incieli.

Through classroom sessions, three day retreats, and various projects such as the H.R.C. Fair, the members develop greater respect for each other. This respect is generated to the entire school and community and has been a great asset to C.H.S. The 35th ASN - Niversary Edition Of The Anne Scott News Carteret High School, Carteret, N.J.
