Arrow (Yearbook) The Arrow staff compiles pictures and stories that occur Mr. Lynch throughout the school year into a book. Christian Club Christian Club is a welcoming space for those who want to Mrs. Diederich & Mrs. Chelepis grow in their faith along with their friends and peers. [email protected] Christian club is not limited to only Christian believers, but is open to anyone who wants to learn more about God and [email protected] the Bible, and/or might be seeking a deeper purpose in life. The club celebrates all denominations of Christianity: Google Classroom Code: a4afcaf Protestant, Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, you name it! Together, as a true team, we discuss, we study, we encourage, and we leave with a smile and renewed joy. Cinema Club Cinema Club provides a place for students who love movies Mr. Blackwell to watch and discuss them with fellow Bremen students. [email protected] Cinema Club also aims to educate students on the art of filmmaking and assist those who want to try their hand at making movies. Circle Book Club Circle Book Club is sponsored by Mrs. Ignelzi and began in Mrs. Ignelzi 2002. Members meet after school 1-2 times each month to [email protected] discuss the popular topics and young adult themes of the novels we read. The Kindle app is utilized on the iPad to access novels. Activity Offerings @ BHS Color Guard The Bremen High School Color Guard performs with the Mr. Salgado Bremen Marching Brigade in all parades, at home varsity [email protected] football games, and at marching band contests. The Color Guard incorporates flags, dance, and movement to enhance the performance of the marching music during field show performances and parades. Culinary Club This is a club that meets once a month after school where Mrs. Flannigan & Mrs. Mack (FACS) students prepare various culinary dishes! [email protected] [email protected] DECA DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in Mr. Strein marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high [email protected] schools and colleges around the globe. You will learn leadership, professionalism and real world skills. Our club also competes in area, state, and national competitions each year. Diversity Club Diversity Club is a club geared toward teaching acceptance Mrs. Coppage and tolerance of self and others. [email protected] Drama The Bremen Theatre holds a long tradition at Bremen High Mr. Rybarczyk School as one of the top activities to participate in. Each [email protected] season (Fall and Spring) we produce a high quality theatrical performance. Cast members will be expected to rehearse weekly. At rehearsals we learn our lines, dive in into our characters and create the magical experience known as theater. Anyone who has ever been part of The Bremen Theatre never forgets the experience. Activity Offerings @ BHS Dreamers Dreamers club is an advocacy group to empower and Mrs. Martinez support those who don't have the same rights/ resources [email protected] when it comes to their educational future after high school. Echo The Echo is Bremen’s student newspaper that covers news, Mrs. Tardy & Mrs. Dwyer (School features and sports for the school community. The Echo [email protected] Newspaper) publishes one newspaper each quarter. [email protected] Energy Club Energy Club seeks to understand the importance of a Mr. Dyke "green world" and engages students on how to reach this [email protected] goal. FCCLA Bremen FCCLA is a Cooperative Education course that is Mrs. Mack designed to have Senior students gain experience in the [email protected] work force prior to graduation. Freshman Class Let's get involved at the start of your high school career! Fuego Fuego is a Latin modern dance group that incorporates all Mrs. Martinez styles of Latin genres. [email protected] Group Group Interpretation is part of the drama department. Activity Offerings @ BHS Genders & GSA is a club that offers a safe and welcoming environment Ms. Bernas Sexualities Alliance to all students at Bremen High School. We are a service [email protected] (GSA) organization that promotes equality for all students. Our organization helps our students to build social connection and provides an opportunity to create change within our school community. Inner Beauty Inner Beauty focuses on mentoring young ladies to love Mrs. Pryor (GIRLS Club) themselves and to become confident and positive leaders. [email protected] Interact Club The purpose of the Interact Club is to provide Mrs. Arguelles opportunities for young people to work together dedicated [email protected] to service to others and international understanding. The Interact Club is affiliated with the Oak Forest Rotary Club whose motto is, "Service above self". Therefore, all of our activities focus on that! Anyone is welcome to join the club. Members must attend monthly meetings and achieve at least ten hours of community service by the end of the year. Service projects are decided upon by members each year. Intramurals Intramural sports provide students an opportunity to Dr. Kushner participate in a variety of competitive and recreational [email protected] activities, from flag football to online gaming. Junior Class The purpose of this activity is to allow Junior students to Mrs. Flood take an active leadership role during their third year at [email protected] Bremen High School. Key Club/Code of The Key Club/Code of the Braves provides members with Ms. Connelly the Braves opportunities to serve, build character, and develop [email protected] leadership. Students work collaboratively to build positive culture at Bremen High School through positive actions, philanthropy and service projects. K-Pop Dance and dish about your favorite K-pop groups and Mrs. Bonebrake artists, while learning about Korean culture and having fun [email protected] with other K-pop fans. Lighting & Stage The Tech Crew (Staging & Lighting) builds, paints, and Mr. Salgado Crew moves the sets, operates the lights, and controls the sound [email protected] for the fall play, spring play, and haunted houses produced by the Bremen Theatre. Tech Crew members use their creativity and technical knowledge to support outstanding productions on our stage each year. Mathletes SSC Activity that has all 4 grade levels of mathematically Mr. Cichon gifted students competing with other schools. [email protected] National Honor The Indian Star Chapter of the National Honor Society is an Mrs. Bogard Society (NHS) organization focused on scholarship, leadership, service, [email protected] and character. Our membership is made of students who excel in those areas, and new Junior and Senior students are invited to apply every fall. (Juniors & Seniors Only) Activity Offerings @ BHS Operation Snowball Operation Snowball is an international alcohol, tobacco Mrs. Slattery and other drug use prevention program focusing on [email protected] leadership development to empower youth to lead drug- free lives. We are a community of caring. Oracle The Oracle Literary & Fine Arts Magazine is an annual Mrs. Sala publication of writing and artwork created by Bremen [email protected] students. All students are encouraged to submit work for publication in the magazine. The Oracle staff is a team of students who gather these written selections and art pieces and utilize their skills in desktop publishing to produce the Literary/Fine Arts magazine. Scholastic Bowl SSC Activity that takes place January-March. We compete Mrs. McNeeley against other schools in a game similar to Jeopardy. [email protected] Science Club The Bremen Science Club helps increase student interest in Mrs. Galloy the sciences, expands awareness of career options, and [email protected] reinforces classroom learning. Senior Class The Senior Class provides students the opportunity to Mrs. McNeeley enhance their leadership skills by participating in various [email protected] school activities.
