Formed in 2013 by a nucleus of musicians from the Chris Barber, Acker Bilk and Kenny Ball bands, the MAGNIFICENT 7 JAZZ BAND comprises some the most sought-after and successful musicians on the jazz scene today. Performing a wide range of jazz styles through well crafted arrangements, this band of versatile musicians successfully blends music from every jazz genre into an exciting and approachable package.

Calling on their experience of performing with Europe's most influential jazz bands of the last sixty years, the MAGNIFICENT 7 combines a wealth of experience with youthful exuberance. Paying homage to the great jazz masters of the early jazz period as well as keeping alive the sounds of the swing era, the MAGNIFICENT 7's repertoire also celebrates the jazz revival of the 1950's, tipping their hat to the great bands of Chris Barber, Kenny Ball Aker Bilk and Alex Welsh.

Successful performances at many clubs and festivals throughout the United Kingdom have seen sell-out audiences, standing ovations and rapturous receptions. The MAGNIFICENT 7 JAZZ BAND prides itself on appealing to both die-hard jazz audiences and music lovers in general, focusing on a broad range of styles and dynamics, aimed at traversing musical boundaries with enthusiasm and energy.

NEW CD RELEASE The Magnificent 7 Jazz Band “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” Released in March 2014, the new recording by The Magnificent 7 Jazz Band has already been sold to customers throughout the UK and Europe to wide critical acclaim. The band has been hailed as ‘the spiritual successor to the Alex Welsh Band’.

The repertoire is as exciting as it is eclectic, weaving a carefully tailored course through the world of im- provised music. Paying homage to the early pioneers Oliver, Armstrong and Ellington, plus a little latin for added colour. The Magnificent Seven Jazz Band works as a team, with sparkling contributions from all the musicians, which ensures an amazingly powerful sound with a broad commercial appeal.
