In 2011 she graduated in concert band arranging with Sandro Satanassi resulting in the best graduate of the year, and then in July 2012 she graduated in composition with top marks with Giorgio Colombo Taccani. In 2012 she was chosen to participate in the European Composers’ Professional Development Programme, and was commissioned to write a piece for the Ensemble 10/10 (Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra) with the final concert at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. In 2013 she won the Progetto ECO 2013-2015, and a further commission of a new work for the Ensemble Télémaque. Winner or special mention in several national and international composition competitions (Musica e Spazi - Turin 2010, International Composition Competiton Premio G.e.r.m.i. - Rome 2012, AFAM composition competition launched by the Divertimento Ensemble - Milan 2013, Musiche in Mostra - Turin 2013, International Composition Competiton Antonio Manoni - Senigallia 2013, International Composition Competiton for orchestra Cav. Angelo Rizzardi - Brescia 2014, International Composition Competiton Egidio Carella - Val Tidone 2014), her works have been performed in Italy and abroad (United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland and Japan), during various important music festivals and seasons such as the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (UK), Biennale di Venezia (IT), Festival les Musiques (FR), Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Season (UK), Festival Suona Francese (IT), Rondò Concerti (IT), by musicians such as Ensemble 10/10, Divertimento Ensemble, Ensemble Télémaque, Ensemble TaG, NED Ensemble, Akiko Kozato and Duo Del Noce - Pieri. She attended masterclasses with Azio Corghi, Luis Bacalov, Tristan Murail and Paola Livorsi. She is the winner of the following scholarship: “Master dei Talenti Musicali, Fondazione CRT - Conservatorio Statale di Musica G. Verdi di Torino”. Her piece The Witching Time of the Night for solo violin is being published by the Edizioni Musicali Bèrben of Ancona. Jose Luis Gómez Aleixandre - Born on November 11th, 1989 in Benisanó (Valencia, Spain). He studied percussion at C.P.M. in Ribarroja del Turia (Valencia, Spain). At present he is doing a BMus both in Composition and Orchestral Conducting at C.S.M. “Joaquín Rodrigo” in Valencia (Spain) and BMus in Composition at Sibelius Academy (Helsinki). He furthered his studies in percussion, composition, orchestral conducting and film music like Esteban Espinosa, Manuel Galduf, Pablo Sanchez Torrella, Leonardo Balada, George Pehlivanian, Jorma Panula... Orchestras, choirs and bands among which stand out the Unión Musical of Liria or the Symphonic Band of the C.S.M. of Castellón have played his works. His pieces have been performed in important places including the Auditorio Municipal of Castellón (Spain), the Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA) or the Sibelius Academy (Helsinki, Finland). He composed some commissioned works such as contest pieces for wind band contests or works for the anniversaries of some bands and choirs. At late 2012 he receives a commission for writing and producing the music of the short film “Don Quixote 2013”. At early 2011 he receives a scholarship to further his studies in composition at Sibelius Academy (Helsinki, Finland). That year he also receives the 1st Prize of the XXIV Choral Composition Contest “Juan Bautista Comes” in Segorbe (Castellón, Spain). In March, 2013 he’s accepted to participate at the Composition Program at the Atlantic Music Festival in Maine (USA) and in July, 2013 he receives a scholarship from the Generalitat Valeciana to participate at the Symphonic Band Composition Summer Course held by the Berklee College of Music in Valencia. He performed as a guest conductor with orchestras and bands such as the Agrupación Musical “La Amistat” de Quart de Poblet or the Symphonic Band of the C.S.M. “Salvador Seguí” of Castellón. From February 2011 to September 2011 he conducted the Agrupación Musical “Vicente Giménez” of Liria (Valencia, Spain). He conducts since September 2012 the Choir of the University of Helsinki. Simone Olivari was born in Genoa in 1982. He was graduated in Philosophy at “Università degli Studi ” in Genoa in 2008. He received a Diploma in Arranging for the concert Band in 2011 and in Composition in 2013 at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Turin where he studied under the supervision of Sandro Satanassi and Giorgio Colombo Taccani. He obtained a master’s degree in “Musical Score for Film and Tv “ in 2012 at the “Scuola Civica di Musica” in Milan under the supervision of Giovanni Venosta, Alberto Mompellio and Sergio Miceli. During this time he composed scores for several short films selected for “Milan Film Festival 2012” and for documentaries filmed to sponsor the cultural activities organized by the Municipality of Milan. Since 2011 he works as maestro collaboratore, stage director and assistant director in national and international Opera productions. He has worked with theatres in Switzerland, France, Germany, Romania and Kazakistan. Lorenzo Restagno, born in Turin (Italy) in 1987, studied composition in Paris with Hugues Dufourt, with Salvatore Sciarrino and Francesco Filidei. He has attended masterclasses of Luca Francesconi (Beijing 2013), Francesco Filidei (Pontedera 2012, 2013), Pierluigi Billone (Palermo 2012, Adria 2013, Milano 2014), Dieter Mack (Beijing 2013), Marco Stroppa (Milano 2013). Graduated in Chinese Language and Culture from Turin University with a thesis on Chinese Buddhism (BA February 2010) and on Chinese Philology (MA February 2014). He studied music composition in 2010/2011 at Central Conservatory of China in Beijing as student of Guo Wenjing. He previously attended Turin Conservatory composition classes of Giulio Castagnoli (2003/2009), and has studied electronic music at Turin Musiclab. He was selected for several international composition workshops and festivals, such as Billone Workshop in Adria with Ensemble Interface, Beijing International Composition Workshop with Beijing Contempo Ensemble, Western Illinois University “Red Note” Composition Workshop with Ensemble Dal Niente (with the financial support of GAI - Giovani Artisti Italiani, Moving Up 2013), Daegu International Contemporary Music Festival (South Korea). His pieces have been performed in Italy, United States, China, South Korea and Japan, played by ensembles as Ensemble Dal Niente, Ensemble Interface, Beijing Contempo Ensemble. René Samson - Born 1948 in Surinam (former Dutch Guyana in South America). Started playing various musical instruments from early childhood. In spite of a career as a research chemist, started composing at age 40. Took composing lessons from several renowned Dutch composers, a.o. Leo Samama and Klaas de Vries. From 1998 on his work was performed regularly by several orchestras, ensembles, chamber music groups and soloists in the Netherlands; e.g. Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Holland Symfonia, the Amsterdam Bridge Ensemble, the Cristofori Piano Quartet, the Lumaka Ensemble, the Valerius Ensemble, the Aurelia Saxophone Quartet, vocalists Marcel Beekman, Wilke te Brummelstroete, Ken Gould, Valérie Guillorit, Charlotte Riedijk and Mattijs van de Woerd, pianists Paolo Giacometti and Shuann Chai and double bass player Rick Stotijn. A CD with Samsons chamber music, performed by the Amsterdam Bridge Ensemble was awarded a “10” (highest distinction) by the prestigious Dutch music magazine Luister. Upcoming events are: a chamber opera to an original libretto by Olaf Mulder in May 2014; a large-scale oratorio for mixed choir, large brass ensemble and solo harp in November 2014. Evija Skuķe was born in Riga (Latvia) in 1992. She has studied composition with Pauls Dambis and Pēteris Vasks during her studies at Riga Dom choir school and Emīls Dārziņš music high school and is currently studying composition with Selga Mence in Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. Skuķe has attended workshops and masterclasses by Gundega Šmite, Dimitris Maronidis, Rolands Kronlaks, Andris Dzenītis, Jānis
