The analysis follows three dimensions: 1) the industry development from manufacturing to designer-dominated creative industry, 2) the way in which the fashion industry and fashion has been written into cultural industries policies and come to play a leading role in what is now called the “culture and experience economy” policy, and 3) the institutionalization of the fashion industry and fashion through the establishment of the network organization Danish Fashion Institute in 2005.
