TARGETS . Develop Pakistan as a hub of sub regional connectivity between high growth East Asia & resource rich Middle East . Improve regional connectivity (links with China, Afghanistan / CARs, Iran, India etc.) . Establish efficient and well integrated transport system to achieve competitive economy . Reduce transport costs and enhance affordability . Increase road density from 0.32 to 0.64 Km / Km2 ROAD NETWORK . aAre =796,096 Sq- km . Total Road Network =260,000 Kms . National Highways & Motorways =12,131 Kms . Roads have dominant share in both transport of passengers (90%) and the Goods (95%) followed by rail. Total Number of Vehicles more than 8 million . 55e .4% ar two Wheelers and 44% four Wheelers (including Cars) .
