Localized rainfall amounts of 8 to 10 inches were reported in the Tidewater area, Eastern NJ and Eastern PA. 9/24/1882 -9999 -9,999 A hurricane 10 days prior to this event produced up to 10" of rainfall. This hurricane destroyed 4 mills along the Rappahannock River. It dumped 11" of rainfall in Philadelphia. Most of the damage occurred in New Jersey were up to 18" of rain fell. 9/25/1975 29.09 23,900 The remnants of Hurricane Eloise combined with a cold front and produced very heavy rainfall in the Mid- Atlantic. Washington, D.C. reported 9.08" of rainfall.
