Dear OWNER Thank You for Declaring HORSE(S) to Run at York on Saturday 25 July. We Are Delighted to Be Back Racing on the Knav

Dear OWNER

Thank you for declaring HORSE(S) to run at on Saturday 25 July. We are delighted to be back racing on the Knavesmire, albeit behind closed doors. I do hope you are able to see your horse run, either at York Racecourse or on television.

We are pleased that, as part of the phased return of owners to racecourses in line with the Government guidance for elite sports grounds, we are at least able to welcome two racehorse owners (or their representatives) to now attend race meetings held behind closed doors. While we appreciate the situation is not ideal, we all understand the reasons behind this and that the BHA is governed by the rules by Government and Public Health England.

To us to ensure that all of the appropriate arrangements are in place and minimise risk for owners and prioritise the safety and well-being of all attendees, we need you to provide us with the details of those who will be attending by no later than 4pm on the day before the race meeting. Please use the Racecourse PASS System to do this, via https://www.rcapass.com If you do not have access to the PASS System, or need any assistance in its use, please contact the PASS Helpdesk on 01933 270333 or pass@.co.uk

Please be aware that the following requirements are also in place to allow us to provide entry, full details of which are available from the Return to Racecourse Guide for Owners on the ROA website, and a summary is provided below:

• All owners will need to complete a two-stage screening process. This includes the BHA’s COVID-19 online learning module and a personal health assessment to be completed in advance of raceday, followed by health questions and a temperature check on arrival at the racecourse. • All owners, guests and representatives must bring Photo ID with them to the racecourse. It is not essential to bring your PASS Card. Given the circumstances, there will be no dress code for this fixture. • To facilitate social distancing and avoid entry delays, the agreed protocols suggest owners are requested to arrive at the racecourse around 45 minutes before their first horse is due to run. • The Owners Car Park is in Car Park D off Campleshon Road. This is the car park behind the grandstands in the shadow of the Terry’s Clocktower. Satnav postcode YO23 1EX. • The Owners Entrance and Accreditation has been relocated to the main County Stand/Marble Entrance by the white footbridge on the road behind the grandstands. Rachel Blizzard ([email protected]) will be on hand to welcome you and ensure your safe passage and accreditation into the racecourse. This is also your exit route at the end of the day. • We have tried to keep the Owners’ zone as “normal” as possible – the Owners Club will be open on the first floor of the Melrose Stand for a seat, toilets and viewing (although we are not allowed to open the bar). The trackside viewing lawns in front of the stands will be accessible as will viewing from outside the parade ring and the big screens on the end of the Melrose Stand. There is a “debrief zone” to meet with trainers before and after the race by the Thatched Head On Box. We have tried to minimise as much as possible the “Green Zone” to which unfortunately you are not permitted to enter as this is limited to only trainers, jockeys and officials and is confined to the area around the weighing room, statue, pre-parade ring and inside the parade ring. As you know, very unfortunately, we are simply not able to accommodate owners in the parade ring or pre-parade ring per the current health protocols agreed by the BHA and ROA, with Government. • While we are not currently able to cater on course, we have arranged for a woodfire pizza unit to be on site for a bite to eat. Rachel will provide you with a complimentary voucher for this. If you would like to pre-order your pizza, please see the Owners’ section of our website: yorkracecourse.co.uk for the menu and contact ‘Knead N’ Feed’ on 07766 668921. There will also be a mobile coffee unit on site – where we will provide a free basic tea and coffee. If you want a more fancy drink, then this will be chargeable.

We are aware the Government restrictions regarding Owners are changing from 28 July, so we hope to be allowed to improve our offering for the Festival.

Please visit our website for information and up to date going at www.yorkracecourse.co.uk/owners- trainers.html and twitter: @YorkClerk We look forward to welcoming you to York and very best of luck with HORSE.

Kind regards
