30th SEA Games - Selection Trial - Pencak Silat

This year 30th South East Asian Games will be held in Manila, Philippines. The event will kick off from 30 November till 11 December 2019.

Host Philippines has confirmed Pencak Silat as one of the sport to be competed, and we have received the updated and final list of events for Pencak Silat. However, instead of all events to be competed as per 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Philippines has only selected following events that will be played;

Male Match Class A (45-50kg) Male Match Class B (50-55kg) Male Match Class D (60-65kg) Artistic Male Single Artistic Male Double Artistic Male Team Female Match Class A (45-50kg) Female Match Class B (50-55kg) Artistic Female Single

Selection Trial was held in a fairly manner on 1 July 2019, Monday, 7.30pm, at Heartbeat@, Level 1, Atrium 1.

The event that have to undergo selection in - Round Robin - format, are as follow; Match Male Class A (45-50kg) Match Male Class D (60-65kg) Match Female Class A (45-50kg) Match Female Class B (50-55kg) Artistic Male Team SGSilat Hari Raya Celebrations

Celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri together with our partners, supporters, affiliates, national athletes, and parents.

In partnership with West Community Club, the event was held on 2 July 2019, Tuesday.

In conjunction with the celebration, Singapore Silat Federation took the opportunity to present award to our dedicated foreign National Coaches and Sparring Partners for their tireless effort and contributions, and always giving the best in everything they do.

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Silat Federation received invitation from its affiliate, Grasio Association Singapore in celebrating the Hari Raya Aidilfitri together with their Silat members.

The celebration was held on 2 July 2019, at Fuchun Community Centre located at Woodlands.

President and CEO of Singapore Silat Federation was invited on 20 July 2019 by its affiliate, Grasio Association (S) to grace their event in the appointment of their new Centre Helper of the Centre at Woodgrove Zone 2 RC.

Both witnessed the presentation of Red Sash by the RC representative, Mr. Loh Kah Yong. Two of our SPEX Scholar; Nur Azlyana & Nurhanishah were around to show their moves too! #OurSingapore Taking public transportation? Singapore Sports School - Sports Star of the Month The presentation ceremony was held at Singapore Sports School Auditorium on 4 July 2019, where Aniq Asri Mohd Yazid and Sheik Fayz Sheik Alau'ddin received the award for their tremendous achievements at the 1st USA Open Pencak Silat Championship 2019.

M3 - Youth Festival 2019

Singapore Silat Federation was invited to be part of the festival, and offering Silat performance to welcome the Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Masagos Mohamad (Minister for Environment and Water Resources & Minister in-charge for Muslim Affairs), and also did a Silat flashmob act to create the hype to the festival.

Numerous activities, such as; performances, tryouts, competitions, were held from 9am to 4pm, which suitable for youth and family. Certification Ceremony by Complete Martial Arts

One of our SPEX Scholar - Muhammad Iqbal Abdul Rahman, donning a full Malay traditional attire (Busana) representing Pencak Silat during the Certification Ceremony by the World Complete Martial Arts Federation on 10 July 2019, Wednesday, 2.30pm. In conjunction with their opening ceremony at FOWCAAS Centre.

The Internal Security Department (ISD) Heritage Centre was established and officially opened by Minister for Home Affairs, Mr. on 20 March 2002. The Centre, which took three years to build, showcases the operational history of ISD. It was built as a training facility for ISD Officers as well as others in the law enforcement and security community in the public service.

Visit is only open to organizations, and Singapore Silat Federation has managed to secure a slot for the visit. We are glad that we are able to share the experience and knowledge with our Ordinary and Associate Member. More than 40 participants joined us in this session.

43rd National Pencak Silat Championship - Perguruan Setia Hati ESHA 2019 will be held from 2 to 4 August 2019 in - Perguruan Cekak Serantau conjunction with the Pesta Sukan - ActiveSG - Perguruan Sendeng Pukulan (GetActive! Singapore). - Perguruan Asad Singapura

In preparation for the 2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships that will be taking part from 30 August till 6 September in Chungju City, South Korea, Dr Sheik Alau'ddin Yacoob Marican, in the capacity of the President of Asian Pencak Silat Federation, attended the Technical Delegate meeting in Seoul, South Korea from 13 to 16 July 2019. NPSC2019 Technical Meeting & Balloting In conjunction with the Pesta Sukan happening this year from the period of 1 to 10 August 2019, Singapore Silat Federation will be organizing its national championship on 2 to 4 August 2019.

One of our Foreign National Coach - Melysa Anggraini will be going back to her country, Indonesia. Melysa has contributed her service as National Coach from September 2017 till July 2019.

Melysa's contributed her services in coaching and training the Team Singapore Silat in few major competitions such as; 18th Asian Games, and 18th World Pencak Silat Championship, apart from the regional and international competitions throughout her service. Youth@Risk Program

Singapore Silat Federation and its Board Members wished her success in her future endeavors! Welcoming 2 New Co-op Member! At the July monthly meeting for Singapore Silat Federation Board Member, we welcome two new members joining as Co-op.

Mr. Alfred Lye whom has vast experienced in Wushu Federation, and active in other organizations in interested to learn on how Pencak Silat and its culture in Singapore works and operated. While Dr Billy J. Hardie who is a registered Medical Officer in Aesthetic would like to contribute his expertise and knowledge to the federation.

Working together with WAKO Boxing Federation, Singapore Silat Federation gets the opportunity to contribute our experience, stories, and most importantly get the chance to motivate the youth- at-risk. Our SPEX Scholars made their appearance at their first session which lasted for one and half hour, at Edgefield Primary Schools.

We will be having more sessions with the youths in August, September, October and November. Visitor from Cairo, Egypt Our training venue at Heartbeat@Bedok received visitor from Dr Maged El Kemary, President of the Kafrel Sheikh University, University of Cairo.

Dr Maged was accompanied by the President of Jamiyah Singapore, Dr. Mohd Hasbi Abu Bakar, and was welcomed warmly by the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Silat Federation. Singapore Silat Federation always looking forward to visitors and shared our experience and expertise with them!

Publishing a Book?

It was definitely a fruitful meeting between the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Silat Federation, together with Professor Effendy from National University of Singapore where they did discuss on launching book on the past and present of Singapore Silat Federation. Content will include the international Silat and club heritage.

We are looking at publishing the book next year. We will keep you updated! M3 Appreciation Dinner

Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Silat Federation, Dr. Sheik Alau'ddin Yacoob Marican, PBM, was invited to the MESRA Appointment Ceremony and Networking with MMOs, which was held on 9 July 2019 (Saturday), 7pm at Asian Civilisations Museum.

The event is for 15th term of the MESRA or also known as Malay Activity Executive Committees Council which the appointment started from 1 April 2019 till 31 March 2022.

On 7 July 2019, Dr. Sheik Alau'ddin Yacoob Marican, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Silat Federation witnessed a simple ceremony of handing over Certificate and Joko Tole Handbook to Mr. Jeffry to be the authorize representative for Joko Tole Singapore.

While the Junior and Senior athletes are in Jakarta, Indonesia, our younger one (Singa Cub - Pre Junior) is currently in Denpasar Bali, Indonesia is competing in the competition.

While the team are competing, the Chief is in RJ Seminar Chengdu, China, conducting seminar and & Coaching workshop for the newly developed Pencak Silat federation in China. Workshop Dr Sheik is there together with his team, Mr. 22-26 July Abdul Raziz and Mr. Romadhon.
