British Business 'Benefits Massively From wednesday june 22 2016 British business ‘benefits massively from EU’ Sir, We own and run more than 1,200 businesses, from micro companies to the FTSE 100, employing more than 1.75 million people. We know our firms are stronger in Europe. Our reasons are straightforward: businesses and their employees benefit massively from being able to trade inside the world’s largest single market without barriers. As business people, we always look to the future — and a future inside the EU is where we see more opportunities for investment, growth and new jobs. We know that Britain leaving the EU would mean having to re- establish terms of trade from scratch with our home market of wednesday500 million june consumers. 22 2016 That wouldn’t just hurt exporters but the hundreds of thousands of small and medium firms who do business with them. Even those that want Britain to leave say that, in the short term, Brexit would lead to economic uncertainty and would put jobs at risk. Smaller businesses and the people they employ are particularly vulnerable to any economic shock that could follow a vote to leave. Britain leaving the EU would mean uncertainty for our firms, less trade with Europe and fewer jobs. Britain remaining in the EU would mean the opposite: more certainty, more trade and more jobs. EU membership is good for business and good for British jobs. That’s why, on June 23, we back Britain remaining in the EU. SIXTIETH YEAR No. 5 VOL. LIX FEBRUARY, 1954 THE PERSONAL REMINISCENCES OF CHOSEN PEOPLE that heepetb Israel Shall neither slumber nor steep.- NE of the most absorbing and revealing books ever published. It Psalm 121:4. o is the autobiography of Joseph Hoffman Cohn, and is entitled "I Have Fought a Good Fight—The Story of Jewish Missionary Pioneering in America." Here is Dr. Cohn's own statement as to how the book came to be written: One day in fellowship, with several members of the Board of Directors, I happened to unravel some of these old-time experiences. They said, "These things you simply must publish as a sort of diary that the world may know a little of what it cost to establish a really worthwhile and dependable Jewish work in America." Since our announcement of the Book in the December issue of THE CHOSEN PEOPLE, we have been deluged with orders. A beloved friend of the Mission for many years, wrote: The Jewish missionary field and the Christian church owe you a sincere vote of thanks ... The great Dr. Neander, church historian, could not have done any better. Another friend of long standing wrote: I read your memoirs with the most intense interest, and I see clearly that the Lord had ... a world-wide field for you, and a world-wide support.
