Tour of a Winery and Vineyards with 100 Years of History Katashimo Wine Foods Co. Ltd.

Katashimo Wine Foods Co. Ltd., located in City, famous for grape production, has been making wine since 1914. From the vineyard, with its 100 years of history, you can look out over Abeno Harukas, the highest building in Japan. Katashimo has been producing about 120,000 liters of wine per year using its own grapes and those of nearby farmers. In addition, Katashimo has been conducting all wine- making processes, from growing the grapes to bottling.

Winery Tour Participants in the winery tour can see the steep vineyard with its 100 years of history and visit the winery to see the storage house, designated a national important cultural property, a historic and well-cared-for bottling line, and a tasting room. Participants will feel the history, culture, passion, and endeavor toward wine at the venue, surrounded by brewery implements produced during the Meiji and Taisho eras in cooperation with sake brewers. There are many old traditional houses in the area, so visitors can taste King Selby wine, produced for Japan, in a tatami room.
