For more than 115 years Renault has embraced the challenge of motorsport in multiple guises. It recognised the value of competitive activities for technical and commercial gain: in December 1898 Louis Renault drove the Type A Voiturette up the steepest street in Paris, the rue Lepic. The first orders for the ground-breaking car with direct drive flooded in. In 1902 the nimble, lightweight Type K, fitted with Renault’s first 4-cylinder engine, took victory in the Paris-Vienna rally. Again, many more cars were sold. Going through the years, in 1977 Renault introduced the first-ever turbocharged car to F1.

  • Max Finished His First Ever Monaco Race Weekend in Style. on a Track
Media information: Races Monaco 26/Mai/2018 all pictures copyright: FIA Formula 2 Media Services/Motorsportpics.de Jerry Andre Max finished his first ever Monaco race weekend in style. On a track notoriously known for procession races, Max scored a strong 6th place by managing three overtaking manoeuvres in the first two laps of the race, scored valuable championship points and held the fastest lap for most of the race. In Qualifying Max was the best Formula 2 Rookie overall with fourth place in his start group, proving his exceptional talent. After being forced to start from pitlane, in Race 1 Max was able to work his way up, scored the fastest lap of the race and just missed the points finishing 11th. In Race 2, once again Max showed some impressive overtaking manoeuvres and scored valuable points finishing 6th. Max' review race 2 (Saturday): “The second race I started from P11 and managed to get safely through the first corner. I had some great first few laps, making my way up through the field on this tight track. Overtaking is extremely difficult, but I managed to pass three cars in the first two laps. Again I manage to drive the fastest lap, and held it until just before the finish.” “All in all the Saturday race was a good result to conclude my first Monaco weekend which had started with some difficulties. We gained even more motivation for the upcoming weeks to improve the car even more and make further steps. So hopefully soon we can score some good results like we did in the season’s opening races.

Investing in the low carbon journey: Lessons from the first decade of UK policy on the road to 2050 Executive Summary A decade of achievement A decade ago the UK automotive sector was in a state of decline and a continuation of this trend was seen as inevitable in many circles. Factory and company closures were commonplace, innovation levels were modest, the UK supply chain had become ‘hollowed out’, and environmental regulations were seen as a threat by the industry.
