Whomsoever Allah guides will never be misled, and whomsoever Allah misguides will never find someone to guide them. I testify that none has the right to be worshipped, except Allah, Alone, without partners, and that Muhammad ,1 is Allah’s Slave- Servant and Messenger. (O, you who believe! Fear Allâh2 as He should be feared and die not except in a state of Islâm3) [3:102], . (O, Humankind! Be dutiful to your Lord [Allâh], Who created you from a single person [Adam], and from him [Adam] He created his wife [Hawwâ (Eve)], and from 1 , that is, Salla-Allahu alaihi wa-sallam: This statement is recited after mentioning the Prophet Muhammad. It generally means: Allah’s mercy and blessings on him. (Translator) 2 By doing all that Allah has ordered and abstaining from all that He has prohibited. (Translator) 3 To die as Muslims with sincere submission to Allah. 4 At-Tanwee` fee Adhkar as-Salah Diversity in Salah Invocations them both He created many men and women; and fear Allâh through Whom you demand [your mutual rights], and [do not cut the relations of] the wombs [kinship]. Surely, Allâh is Ever an All-Watcher over you) [4:1], (O, you who believe! Keep your duty to Allâh and fear Him, and speak [always] the truth. He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allâh and His Messenger [Muhammad ], he has indeed achieved a great achievement4.) [33:70-71] Surely, the best speech is Allah’s Kalam (speech5), and the best guidance is the guidance sent with Muhammad . Surely, the worst matters are matters of innovation (in religion), and every innovation is a bid`ah, every bid`ah is dhalalah (sin, heresy), and every dhalalah6 is in Hellfire. 4 They will be entered to Paradise and saved from Hellfire. 5 Allah, the Exalted, speaks with whatever He wills, whenever He wills. This is one of Allah’s perfect Attributes, none is equal or similar to Him. (Translator) 6 This means whoever invents the bid`ah. (Translator) 5 At-Tanwee` fee Adhkar as-Salah Diversity in Salah Invocations A Shining Statement All praise is due to Allah 7 what suffices [for His grace and majesty], and may Allah’s mercy and blessings be on the Chosen Prophet, (Muhammad ). To continue, Allah said, (Allâh will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees. And Allâh is Acquainted with what you do.) [58:11] The Prophet said, " مَنْ يُرِدِ اهللُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ " “Whoever Allah wills the good for them, He grants them fiqh (understanding) of the religion” (Bukhari, and, Muslim8). In answer to this divine encouragement, Silsilat (the series on) al-‘Allamatayn (the two scholars) Ibn Baz and al-Albani, strives to reach out to you (the reader) with its various knowledge-based publications, so as to contribute to the spread of knowledge of the Sharee`ah 7 , that is, Sub`hanahu wa-ta`ala: This statement is recited after mentioning Allah’s Name. Translated, this statement means, ‘He (Allah) is Glorified and Exalted.’ There are other statements of glorification and praise Muslims recite on mentioning Allah’s Name. (Translator) 8 Compilations by hadeeth scholars Bukhari and Muslim are the two most-authentic collections of hadeeth, meaning Prophetic statements, for Muslims. (Translator) 6 At-Tanwee` fee Adhkar as-Salah Diversity in Salah Invocations (Islamic law) in an easy to read, concise manner to make it attainable for Muslims to gain knowledge in the rulings of the religion they need to know. • Fiqh Diniyat Book
FFiiqqhh ((LLaawwss)) Book 7 Lesson 1 Saláh Types of Wājib Salāh There are six types of wājib salāh: 1. The Five Daily Salāh. 2. Salāt al-Ayāt. 3. Salāt al-Mayyit (taught in Book 10). 4. Two Rak’ah Salāh after Wājib Tawāf of Ka’bah (taught in Book 10). 5. Compensation (qadā) salāh of a dead man that is wājib on the eldest son. 6. Salāh that becomes wājib due to an oath (nadhr, ‘ahd, qasam) or if one is paid to pray the qadā for someone deceased (as niyābah). Note: Salāt al-Jumu’ah (Friday prayer) is counted as part of the five daily prayers because it is prayed instead of Salāt adh-Dhuhr on Fridays. Mustahab (nāfila) prayers are studied in Book 9. The importance of salāh and not to take it lightly can be reviewed from Book 5 (Akhlāq Lesson 7). The Compensatory Prayer (Salāt al-Qadā) Qadā salāh is performed in compensation for a salāh that has not been performed during its proper time. It is wājib to make up all those prayers that have been missed for whatever reason, except for bāligha women who are excused from salāh at certain times of the month (which will be taught to the girls separately). Those who suffer from mental illness do not have to pray salāh. Also, a non-Muslim who becomes a Muslim does not have to pay qadā for the time before he or she became a Muslim. But if a Muslim loses his faith for a duration and then returns to Islām, he or she must make up for all the missed prayers.

  • Guardianship of the Environment
Citation: Azizan Baharuddin (2011). Guardianship of the Environment: An Islamic Perspective in the Context of Religious Studies, Theology, and Sustainable Development in Ipgrave, M., Marshall, D., & Williams, R. (Eds.) Humanity: Texts and Contexts: Christian and Muslim Perspectives. Washington: Georgetown University Press. Guardianship of the Environment: An Islamic Perspective in the Context of Religious Studies, Theology, and Sustainable Development Azizan Baharuddin This essay will address the topic of environmental guardianship by first stressing the need for religious studies and theology to reinvigorate their role in the context of sustainable development, and to find their way into other disciplines’ ethical bases in economic and sociocultural terms. I begin from the premise that, just as the physical basis for any society is its bricks and mortar, so too in the human and social dimension of life there is a need to strengthen the belief and values basis. Guardianship as a value or belief is manifested in action in the form of sustainable development. The Role of Philosophy Philosophy of religion can be used in two ways: as an exercise in philosophy with religion as the subject; or as an exercise in religion where philosophy is used as an intellectual tool.111 Philosophy is critical because it asks the questions that need to be asked if religious studies and theology (and guardianship of nature is one important aspect of theology) are to really succeed in exploring the concept of sustainable development and the most recent elaboration of sustainable development objectives, as seen, for example, in the Earth Charter (2000).112 Philosophy can help explain the ethical foundation of principles for sustainable development, or it can help us put into religious studies the idea of sustainable development.

  • Witr Prayer Volume2 Book16 Hadith 105: Narrated Ibn Umar: Once a Person Asked Allah's Apostle About the Night Prayer
Witr Prayer Volume2 Book16 Hadith 105: Narrated Ibn Umar: Once a person asked Allah's Apostle about the night prayer. Allah's Apostle replied, "The night prayer is offered as two Rakat followed by two Rakat and so on and if anyone is afraid of the approaching dawn (Fajr prayer) he should pray one Raka and this will be a Witr for all the Rakat which he has prayed before." Nafi' told that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar used to say Taslim between (the first) two Rakat and (the third) odd one in the Witr prayer, when he wanted to attend to a certain matter (during that interval between the Rakat). Hadith 106: Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: Once I passed the night in the house of Maimuna (his aunt). I slept across the bed while Allah's Apostle and his wife slept length-wise. The Prophet slept till midnight or nearly so and woke up rubbing his face and recited ten verses from Surat "Aal- Imran." Allah's Apostle went towards a leather skin and performed ablution in the most perfect way and then stood for the prayer. I did the same and stood beside him. The Prophet put his right hand on my head, twisted my ear and then prayed two Rakat five times and then ended his prayer with Witr. He laid down till the Muadh-dhin came then he stood up and offered two Rakat (Sunna of Fajr prayer) and then went out and offered the Fajr prayer. (See Hadith No. 183, Vol. 1) Hadith 107: Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: The Prophet said, "Night prayer is offered as two Rakat followed by two Rakat and so on, and if you want to finish it, pray only one Raka which will be Witr for all the previous Rakat." Al-Qasim said, "Since we attained the age of puberty we 1 have seen some people offering a three-Rakat prayer as Witr and all that is permissible.

  • Make This Your Best Ramadan Yet! in the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
A DAILY PLANNER AND GUIDE FOR ALL AGES! 3655 Wheeler Ave Alexandria, VA 22304 IRUSA.ORG 1-855-447-1001 Tax ID# 95-4453134 Make this your best Ramadan yet! in the name of allah, the most gracious, the most merciful All thanks and praise is due to Allah alone, the Lord of the Worlds. We praise Him, seek refuge with Him, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evils of our souls, and the mistakes in our actions. Whomever Allah Guides, there is none who can misguide him, and whoever Allah misguides, there is none who can guide him. Verily, there is none worthy of being worshipped except Allah, and Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is His servant and Messenger. Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) reminds us in the Qur’an that the month of Ramadan contains limited precious days — with an extraordinary opportunity to reach out and connect to Him. He tells us of this powerfully, All the actions of people are for them, except for fasting. Fasting is for Me and it is I who rewards it. Hence the purpose of this month is Allah — and Allah (swt) alone. Fasting is a means to attain nearness to Him. Keeping this in mind, we must make the most of these days. The best way to take advantage of Ramadan is to develop a Ramadan action plan — because a failure to plan is a plan for failure. If you don’t set goals, it gets difficult to measure yourself and assess the current state of your worship.
