Nippon Kempo Sainte ‒ Marguerite ヨーロッパブロック フランス Nippon Kempo Sainte ‒ Marguerite 国 フランス日本拳法協会 ■History In France, Nippon Kempo was born in 1984, when Ali Zoubiri, a Judo teacher since 1981, became interested in this martial art which was unknown in France and, opened a Kempo lesson in the Saint-Dié Judo club. In 1990, Ali Zoubiri and his students Stéphane Vandini, Rachid Bensalah and Alexis Ulmer decided to leave Saint-Dié in order to give priority to martial arts rather than money. They founded a genuine French Nippon Kempo Association (A.N.K.F). They are then welcome in Saint-Marguerite, and become able to go on and teach a sane Nippon Kempo. ■Philosophy and méthode Just like every martial art, Nippon Kempo is above all a spirit art, governed by a moral code : bushido. It teaches noble values like friendship, sincerity, bravery, honor, modesty, politeness, self-control and respect Nippon Kempo enables to educate people in a significant way. Some people even talk about general therapy. The aim of practicing Nippon Kempo is to improve physical, mental and moral capacities. But it depends on the teacher. A teacher, has first to be a role model. He must pass on the bases and the principles of the discipline. ■Location・Other ●Location IAllées des Sports 88100 ●Hours Sainte-Marguerite France ●Representation Ali Zoubiri ●FAX 00333 2956 7997 ●Instructor Stéphane Vandini ●E-Mail Jonathan Zoubiri ●URL http://www.ankf.eu/ ヨーロッパブロック フランス Réunion Island Nippon Kempo Les Avirons 国 フランス日本拳法協会 ■History More than ten years ago, Alexis Ulmer , student of Ali Zoubiri, left France to Réunion Island, an heavenly country in the Indian Océan near South Africa and Madagascar. He created the Réunion Nippon Kempo Association ( ANKR ) to promote and develop Nippon Kempo. ■Philosophy and méthode With Nippon Kempo, we are in real fight situation, with a Bogu where we can really strike a blow, and learn to control the art. Nippon Kempo teaches us how to be quiet et untroubled when we meet a problem, and also teaches us how to manage our emotions in a conflict during the fight or in the true life. ■Location・Other ●Location ①Avirons Dojo ●Phone ①00336 9265 1822 Complexe Sportif des Avirons rue ②00336 9265 1822 du stade 97425 Les Avirons ●E-Mail ②Entre-Deux Dojo ●URL Gymnase de l'Entre-Deux rue ●Representative Alexis Ulmer des fréres 97414 Entre-Deux ●Instructor Alexis Ulmer ヨーロッパブロック フランス Marseille Dojo ANKF 国 フランス日本拳法協会 ●Location Maison pour Tous Vallée de L'huveaune4 rue Gimon 13011 Marseille ●Phone 00336 2549 0804 ●URL http://nipponkempomarseille.jimdo.com/ ●Representative Pierre-Alain Anna ●Instructor Pierre-Alain Anna Nancy Shobukaï ANKF 国 フランス日本拳法協会 ●Location Nancy thermal rue du Sergent Blandan 54000 NANCY France ●Phone 00336 8134 6838 ●URL http://www.shobukai.fr/ ●Representative Emmanuelle Midon ●Instructor Emmanuelle Midon Stéphane Cheminais Pascal Brunet Budokan Jeanménil ANKF 国 フランス日本拳法協会 ●Location Jeanménil France ●Phone 00336 2267 6140 ●Representative Rachid Bensalah ●Instructor Rachid Bensalah ヨーロッパブロック フランス Kojiki Club ANKF 国 フランス日本拳法協会 ●Location Salle de la Mairie 1145 routte Départementale 73 88230 Ban/Meurthe Clefcy France ●Phone 00336 8751 4269 ●URL http:///le.kojiki.club.free.fr/ ●Representative Roland Marion ●Instructor Roland Marion / Didier Hocquaux Kojiki Club ANKF 国 フランス日本拳法協会 ●Location Salle Désiré Granet Zone Industriel des Souches 88650 Anould France ●Phone 00336 8751 4269 ●URL http:///le.kojiki.club.free.fr/ ●Representative Roland Marion ●Instructor Roland Marion / Didier Hocquaux Hussigny Godbrange Dojo ANKF 国 フランス日本拳法協会 ●Location Complexe Sportif 1 rue des Tilleuls 54590 Hussigny Godbrange France ●Phone 00336 4743 0743 ●Representative Alain Vion ●Instructor Alain Vion.

  • SHOJI NISHIMURA Excellence in Action
Masters.vol15_working 5/25/10 1:08 AM Page 36 N ISHIMURA SHOJI NISHIMURA Excellence in Action By Jose M. Fraguas ne of the first thing that strikes about O Sensei Nishimura is his confidence. He knows what he can do and he is sure with- in himself. When you look at his roots and experience in the art of Wado Ryu Karate, he just seems to have completely defined an important era in the U.S. for the style developed by the great Hironori Ohtsuka. His approach to karate training is reminiscent of the attitude of those who reached greatness: “In Karate you have to train hard and relent- lessly, chase the perfection in technique, knowing full well that it doesn’t exist and you will not reach it because nothing is perfect. But you have to chase it because in the process you will reach excellence,” he says. “You can’t settle yourself with being just good.” How many styles have you trained in and who were your teachers? I have been practicing karate since I was 14 years old. Also, I have been practicing Ryukyu kobudo, sai, nunchaku, and bo. In addition, I train in iaido, aiki-jujitsu. My first experience with Martial Arts was in the Saga prefecture of Karatsu, Japan. I was first introduced to karate when my friend invited me to go see the new dojo that was built in the area. This dojo practiced full contact sparring, break- ing stones, bricks, and makiwara punching. Watching the punches and kicks of the black belts from the main branch dojo lit up my eyes.

  • Comprehensive Karate: from Beginner to Black Belt an Introduction to the History, Kata and Practice of Traditional Karate-Do by Michael J
A pilgrim was walking a long road when one day he passed what seemed to be a monk sitting in a field. Nearby men were working on a stone building. “You look like a monk,” the pilgrim said. “I am that,” said the monk “Who is that working on the abbey?” “My monks,” said the man. “I’m the abbot.” “It’s good to see a monastery going up,” said the pilgrim. “They’re tearing it down,” said the abbot. “Whatever for?” asked the pilgrim. “So we can see the sun rise at dawn,” said the abbot.
