ABOUT “SMUKFEST” 2017 “The most beautiful festival in Denmark – Skanderborg Festival, aka Smukfest”

Dear folks Please find some general information’s about us, and our plans in 2017.

SKANDERBORG FESTIVALKLUB Skanderborg Festival klub is founded in 1979, and is to this day, still the sole owner of the festival, and all activities around “Smukfest”. We are a “club”- an open community, with 15.000 members, and more than 12.000 volunteers. The club is a nonprofit organization, where no private investors are involved. All profits go`s to secure the festivals existence, to cultural activities in Skanderborg, and to the community’s charity foundation “Smuk fonden”. Here we donate large funds to projects that support and help social outcasts and lonely people in Denmark.

LIVECAMP Smukfest`s tribute and support to upcoming music in Denmark. 26 of the best new Danish artists will perform on the “LiveCamp” stage, as a tree day warm up party at the campsite in Skanderborg 6th – 8th August.

SMUKFEST The 38th edition of ”the most beautiful festival in Denmark, will take place, by the lake, in the forest of Skanderborg, 9th – 10th – 11th – 12th and 13th of August 2017.

GENERAL CONTRACTUAL TERMS: By accepting any offer from the festival, the artist is accepting all the following terms & conditions:

· Any offer is strictly based on the artist’s use of the festival`s standard stage, PA, Lights, video screens, logistics & catering only. By accepting any offer, the artist therefore agrees to perform within the festivals standard technical setup, rules and regulations, to be viewed here: www.smukfest.dk/artist. The festivals staff will however (within the stage and stage areas capability), gladly help the artists representatives to provide, build or arrange for the fulfilment of any special technical requirements, solely at the artist`s own expense. Any costs to meet any of the artist’s special requirements, will therefore be deducted from the artist fee, or billed directly to the artist. Any and all commission to agents shall be covered by the artist.

· Exclusivity: Unless specifically agreed in writing, no other shows are to be announced in Denmark prior to SMUKFEST.

· Artists and their crew shall respect and follow Danish law and the festivals general rules, health and safety regulations.

· The artist normally plays for a min. of 75 minutes and a max. of 90 minutes in one set, including encores. (TBC)

· No backline is provided or paid by the festival on top of this offer.

· Accommodation is not provided or paid by the festival on top of this offer.

· No flights, freights, busses or any other kind of transportation are provided or paid by the festival on top of this offer.

· All artists are by Smukfest, insured against any 3. person damage/claims according to Danish law. Smukfest does not cover any additional insurances.

· The artist accepts, as part of the agreement, that the show will be sound and video recorded for a) live broadcasting on “big screen” tv monitors to audiences around and besides the

As part of the agreement, the festival also have the rights to use the recordings for any non-commercial festival promotion, via the festival`s web platforms. All use of the recordings during/after the festival will be in a non-downloadable form.

· Announcement will preferably take place shortly after artist’s confirmation.

· Promoter will use same lettering for all artists.

LOCATION/DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS:

Parking Permits: To require parking permits for the stage where You will be performing, please send an e-mail to: [email protected]

Vehicles without permits will not be allowed into the festival site.

If You have vehicles arriving days/nights prior to your performance, we have a remote parking site, situated about 4 kilometers from the festival site. power and driving instructions are available upon request, please contact the production manager.

Driving instructions: If You are coming in on the E45 Highway, take exit 52, “Skanderborg Vest”.

If You are coming in from the north side, turn left at the exit towards Skanderborg City (approx 2 km). Turn right at the first traffic light – road name “Vroldvej”, approx 700 mtrs. Pass the first traffic light, turn left 1st. road on your left, road name “Vestergade”. Continue straigt ahead on “Vestergade” for approx. 3 km. You will be driving through the city, . You will then meet the festival gate, and after that just follow the signs. Mainstage backstage entrance is approx 1 km. ahead on your left.

PRODUCTION OFFICE: All production duties will be handled by Anders Nørgaard assisted by Mads Bøgedahl & Jacob Fraas.

With many years international experience and a direct experience of the logistical problems encountered when staging a festival in this forest, we will be on call to assist with all technical and practical queries.

The production office is situated in the backstage area directly behind Mainstage A. The office can be used by visiting tour/production managers and is equipped with extra phone +45 87 93 72 68, copying machine and LAN/ADSL Internet connection.

Surplus to this, we can offer headlining bands a small office just next to the main stages. There are 2 small offices, which will be equipped with one phone---line each: +45 87 93 73 27, and +45 87 93 73 70, as well as one LAN/ADSL internet connection in each office. Wireless LAN is also available.

GUESTS/GUEST LISTS/VIP: The band/performers guest list is restricted to one guest per band member.(These rules are for mainstage and Star Stage performers only!, for other stages please contact the festival promotors)

Backstage access passes will be given to guests whom the artists want to meet in the backstage area. This backstage access does not include admission to the stage. Backstage access passes are also valid as admission to the public festival area on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

If not expressly stated on the guest list that backstage access is required, guests will receive a permanent pass for the public festival area, this will not admit the holder to the backstage area.

Guests who are not accompanying the band must contact the festival staff at the main entrance/guest hatch.

Important: The guest list will this year be administrated by the danish booking--- agents themselves, so do not contact the festival about guest---passes, go straight to your danish booker/promoter.

SECURITY: As we have already stated; the Skanderborg Festival is one of the best organised festivals in Denmark. Therefore it goes without saying, that we have strict security arrangements. There are hundreds of volunteers as well as professional security staff which insure that all artists, specified guests and crew can feel completely relaxed within the backstage area. Obviously, passes must be worn at all times.

TELEVISION AND RADIO: During the festival, both national and local radio & T.V. stations will be present. They may get in touch with the tour manager/representative if they wish to film or interview the artist. We would like to think that the artist would accept this invitation, to obviously promote both themselves, and the festival. However; we guarantee that no one will get our permission to record any artist, without written consent of the artist or their representative.

MERCHANDISE: The booth will be located at a central position on the Festival site; right outside the main entrance where our own Festival Merchandise Booth is located too.

We shall advertise heavily in order to make the audience visit the booth. You may do the same from the stage or on your own website etc.

Please note that you cannot deliver or send any goods to us for commission sales or any other handling or storage. All band merchandise handling must be carried out by the artists’ own staff and at the artists’ risk.

As the booth will be located inside the festival area, your staff will need ticket to go to or work in the booth. However, you will need a drivivig permit, if you want to park as close as possible to the booth in order to unload your goods. We cannot offer you a parking space near the booth.

We recommend you to bring along a hand truck as you will not be able to unload right next to the booth, - there will be a certain distanced to walk.

The use of the merchandise booth is free of charge, but each band/artist can only expect to be offered a sales space in the booth on the day the band is playing and in the period of one hour before the start of the concert till one hour after the end of the concert. In case of surplus sales space we can offer you extra time. Please note, that you will share the booth with the staff of other artists playing on other festival stages.

WIRELESS EQUIPMENT: With the growing use of wireless equipment, The Skanderborg Festival experiences more and more disturbances on the radio nets used for coordination of security and contingencies. The Skanderborg Festival is therefore forced to regulate the use of wireless equipment. All suppliers, musicians etc. who wishes to make use of wireless equipment on, or in the proximities of the festival area must no later than July 1st inform DSF on:

• Type of equipment. (Ex “Wireless Microphone”) • Name, manufacturer, number etc. (Ex “AKG, WMS 300”) • RF Frequency Range: (Fx “798---955 Mhz”) • RF radiation: (Fx “6 mW”) • Is the equipment CE marked: (Ex “Yes”)

The Skanderborg Festival will get back to you with information on whether the equipment can be used ore not. As a point of reference, radios (walkie---talkies) using the RF frequency range between 422 and 470 MHz, or equipment without the CE mark, are NOT allowed. Suppliers, musicians etc. can borrow a limited number of radios (walkie---talkies), if they apply for such no later than July 1st.

MAIN STAGES INFO:

The main twin stages (called the beech tree stages) are situated in the centre of a natural outdoor amphitheatre. (see picture above). The stage floors being directly built on terrafirma elevated by a solid rock wall 1.8 metres in height. In direct response to the ever---growing technical and physical requirements of touring productions, the festival organizers, and production team, has increased the height and structural integrity of both main stages, to accommodate the following parameters.

On each stage, stage clearance is 7 m over a performance area of 11 x 9 m, and with a load bearing capacity of 6 tons. Stage width and depth are now 13.4 m wide x 15 m deep, including 5 x 13,4 m set---up area behind the backdrop. Both stages are identical.

To enhance the audience concert experience, the Skanderborg Festival has 5 x Big Screen LED Video Walls in 16:9 format, situated between our 2 main stages and on the sides of each stage. (360x270cm).

ALL concerts from the main stages are shown on the Video Wall, with multi---camera set---ups designed specifically to provide video for relay to a screen.

A multi---camera set up is needed to ensure a smooth flow of video as people change places and moves on stage. Our camera feeds will be mixed together live by an experienced vision mixer who will ensure that the output to the big screen gives the audience the best possible experience.

The camera setup consists of 7 cameras, whereof 4 are small robotic controlled cameras, which leads to the fact that there are only 2 camera operators situated on--- stage, and they will only stay behind side---fill speakers, NOT to disturb the performance of the artist on stage.

The video production IS NOT recorded, and is only to enhance the audience experience. MAIN STAGES - PLOT:

The audience area in front of these stages can accommodate an audience of approximately 25.000 Arriving at Main Stages: The twin nature of these stages allows for (mostly) a load in some 4---5 hours before performance time, where rolling risers are available. Clear stage is usually 3 hours before performance where a full line check to monitors is available. Artist change over is primarily 45 minutes, where You are able to perform a foh soundcheck. Due to local restrictions, no FOH sound is allowed between 3.00 am to 10.00 am. Therefore it is never possible to do a morning soundcheck, roll---backs etc.

STAR-STAGE

The Festivals next largest stage, is a big outdoor stage, situated next to the Skanderborg Lake, with a capacity of approx 20.000 audiences. On stage is a huge variety of both danish and international acts.

The stage has a performance area of 18 x 8 meters, setup areas of 18 x 8meters and clearence of 9m

To enhance the audience concert experience, the STAR STAGE has 2 x Big Screen LED Video Walls in 9:16 format, situated on each side sides of stage. (350x600cm).

ALL concerts from the main stages are shown on the IMAG, with multi---camera set---ups designed specifically to provide video for relay to a screen.

A multi---camera set up is needed to ensure a smooth flow of video as people change places and moves on stage. Our camera feeds will be mixed together live by an experienced vision mixer who will ensure that the output to the big screen gives the audience the best possible experience.

To enhance the audience concert experience, the P3 Stage has 2 x Big Screen LED Video Walls in 16:9 format, situated on the sides of stage. (250x150cm).

ALL concerts from the main stages are shown on the Video Wall, with multi---camera set--- ups designed specifically to provide video for relay to a screen.

A multi---camera set up is needed to ensure a smooth flow of video as people change places and moves on stage. Our camera feeds will be mixed together live by an experienced vision mixer who will ensure that the output to the big screen gives the audience the best possible experience.

The camera setup consists of 5 cameras, whereof 2-3 are small robotic controlled cameras, which leads to the fact that there are only 2 camera operators situated on--- stage, and they will only stay behind side---fill speakers, NOT to disturb the performance of the artist on stage.

The video production IS NOT recorded, and is only to enhance the audience experience.
