Ensoniq Mirage Factory Disks I Compiled This List to Help Me Organise and Label My Ensoniq Mirage Factory Disks I compiled this list to help me organise and label my own (muddled) collection of disks. I hope it is of use to others – please feel free to correct any mistakes I’ve made. I’m not sure of the chronology of these libraries, and my listings are not 100% complete. This does not cover 3 rd party disks . From memory, when you bought a Mirage you got two (maybe 3?) sound disks with it – these were the ones numbered 1.4, 3.2, etc. I’ve listed what I know of those. There was also a library numbered 1, 2, 3, etc. These went up to at least 23, maybe further? Again, I’ve listed what I know of those. Then a library starting 100, 101, 102. All I know for sure is the contents of 102. Finally there was a 30 disk library – A1-10, B1-10 and C1-10. I have listed these completely. As far as I can see, this library (still available at a stupid price from Syntaur as of Jan 2013) covers every library sample Ensoniq ever did for the Mirage. You’ll notice that some of the disks are duplicated, eg 12 is identical to B09. Other disks are made up from different ones – 23 is the Steel Guitar, Banjo and Fiddle from A06 with the Tremolo Mandolin from B06. Building a Relationship with Percussion Instruments Bill Matney, Kalani Das, & Michael Marcionetti Materials used with permission by Sarsen Publishing and Kalani Das, 2017 Building a relationship with percussion instruments Going somewhere new can be exciting; it might also be a little intimidating or cause some anxiety. If I go to a party where I don’t know anybody except the person who invited me, how do I get to know anyone else? My host will probably be gracious enough to introduce me to others at the party. I will get to know their name, where they are from, and what they commonly do for work and play. In turn, they will get to know the same about me. We may decide to continue our relationship by learning more about each other and doing things together. As music therapy students, we develop relationships with music instruments. We begin by learning instrument names, and by getting to know a little about the instrument. We continue our relationship by learning technique and by playing music with them! Through our experiences and growth, we will be able to help clients develop their own relationships with instruments and music, and therefore be able to 1 strengthen the therapeutic process. • USER GUIDE Chimes Deluxe
loops de la crème CHIMES DELUXE - April 2015 Thank you for purchasing CHIMES DELUXE! This sample library for Kontakt explores the magical sounds of bar chimes (aka mark tree) instruments. It features three types of virtual instrumens: 1. highly realistic virtual bar chimes 2. melodic instruments based on chimes samples 3. dynamic textures and organic sound design instruments INSTALLATION To install the samples and instruments on your hard drive, unzip the file named CHIMES DELUXE.zip. On a Mac, use the default ‘Archive utility’. On a PC, I recommend to use Winrar or Winzip to properly unzip the file. You can then copy/paste the CHIMES DELUXE folder to your sample library hard drive, and make sure you make a backup of the new samples on a separate drive (or a SD card / USB stick...) IMPORTANT NOTE: !!! Please keep the CHIMES DELUXE folder structure intact: Do not move or erase a folder or a file from the main CHIMES DELUXE folder to ensure proper loading of the instruments. To load patches, find the folder from the Kontakt files menu and select the patch you wish to load: just double-click on a patch or use the drag- and-drop technic. Note: Native Instruments Kontakt 5.3.3+ is needed to fully use the instruments. Make sure you have the latest updates installed. You can also load patches with Kontakt Free Player in demo mode (with a time limit). Along this user guide, you’ll find a pdf License Agreement. Please read this text carefully, it precisely explains the things you are allowed and not allowed to do with the sample library.

  • Cineperc 1.1 Manual V3
Welcome to CinePerc v1.1! Cinesamples is proud to present CinePerc, our comprehensive percussion library. CinePerc comes in four parts; Core, Pro, Epic, and Aux. All of these instruments were recorded in excruciating detail at the SONY Scoring Stage in Los Angeles, and mixed by master engineer Dennis Sands. CORE The Core library brings you the bread and butter of the orchestral percussion section - generally instruments that were standard in pre-20th Century scores. This set of instruments will cover a large part of your day-to-day orchestral percussion needs. PRO CinePerc PRO includes many more percussion instruments for your orchestral template. In general these patches give you control over sounds that were more recently standardized in 20th Century music. EPIC CinePerc EPIC is the most beastly of the four CinePerc packages. This library includes enormous-sounding single and ensemble percussion patches to give your cues that punch they need. Trailer music composers will find themselves reaching for these patches first to get that larger-than-life sound. AUX CinePerc AUX is an expansion to the other CinePerc options that will expand your template along with your creativity. This expansion includes ethnic instruments, toys, and other knick-knacks to give your pieces an extra flavor. What’s New in v1.1 All Libraries: • Changed Patch List names to be better searchable by “importance” • Added 6db to all patches to make the full mix blend better with other libraries • ON MOST libraries (where we had keyboard real estate) Rolls were stretched to A# with no release, so you have an option to have a release trigger (playing “B”) or not have a release trigger.

NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY Compositional and Orchestrational Trends in the Orchestral Percussion Section Between the Years of 1960-2009 SUBMITTED TO THE MUSIC SCHOOL IN PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS for the degree DOCTOR OF MUSIC Field of Percussion By Renee E. Keller EVANSTON, ILLINOIS June 2013 © Copyright by Renee Keller 2013 All Rights Reserved 4 ABSTRACT Compositional and Orchestrational Trends in the Orchestral Percussion Section Between the Years of 1960-2009 Renee E. Keller The purpose of this study was to identify new trends and innovations as regards the orchestral percussion section between the years of 1960-2009. In order identify possible trends this study examined 87 compositions written for orchestra between 1960 and 2009. The necessary historical background identified a number of trends already in use by 1960. Among those were increasing calls for special effects, the introduction and inclusion of the marimba and vibraphone in orchestral music, an increased demand for difficult and important mallet parts, general increases in the size and force of the percussion section, and an increased demand for expanded timpani range and tuning. Scores were examined for those trends as well for new or unusual playing techniques, the prevalence of multi-percussion setups in the orchestra, detail of composer instruction and percussion ensemble in the orchestra. Changing opinions and attitudes regarding percussion which occurred during the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century were also documented. The results indicate that a number of changes took place in orchestral percussion writing from 1960-2009. General findings show increased demands on the percussion sections of today compared to the percussion sections of the past in both number of instruments and players.
