Approval of recommendations issued by AGRI Coordinators during their meeting of 14 Avril 2021 1. REQUESTS FOR ITEMS TO BE INCLUDED IN UPCOMING COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDAS 1.1 Geographic Indications reform Decision: Coordinators decided to invite a representative of DG AGRI to present the results of this study and the idea for the revision of Geographical Indications schemes. 2. ACTIVITIES WITH NATIONAL PARLIAMENTS - 2ND SEMESTER 2021 Decision: Coordinators decided to discuss the topic of CAP Strategic plans in each Member States with national parliaments. 3. PUBLIC HEARINGS 3.1. Joint AIDA-AGRI hearing on AI & agriculture & food security next June Decision: Coordinators decided that AGRI jointly organises the hearing with AIDA, and sets up one of the two panels. 3.2. AGRI public hearings for the 2nd half of 2021 Decision: Coordinators approved 2 hearing topics to be organised during the 2nd semester 2021: 1. Economic comparison of the performance, viability and competitiveness of the EU agriculture (for main commodities) with the main competitors outside the EU; 2. Brexit situation/the influence of Brexit on the European market; PE691.418v01-00 2/10 PV\1229817EN.docx EN A third hearing on animal welfare will be further discussed at the next Coordinator’s meeting, it will be communicated as an ad hoc request to the CCC once the title is agreed. 4. MISCELLANEOUS DECISIONS 4.1 Proposal for a Council Decision on the conclusion of an agreement between the EU and United States (2021/0063(NLE)) on the apportionment of tariff-rate quotas following Brexit Decision: ComAGRI will give consent to the conclusion of the agreement between the EU and the US, in the form of a Chair’s letter to INTA (lead committee) pursuant to Rule 56. Coordinators decided to invite the Commission to provide clarification on the topic. 5. PETITIONS Decision: Coordinators decided to issue an opinion to the petition No 1174/2020 in the form of a letter to the PETI committee drawing the attention on the importance of the issue to AGRI. The AGRI Committee will take note of the petition No 1300/2020 and its Chair will inform the Chair of the PETI Committee that it has done so. 6. OTHER DOCUMENTS FOR INFORMATION Decision: No action with respect to any of the documents included in Annex I. 7. FOR INFORMATION 7.1. Proposals for EP and Council decisions on the Equivalence of EU and UK rules on (1) forest reproductive material produced in the UK and (2) field inspections and checks on practices for the maintenance of varieties of agricultural plant species carried out in the UK On 17 March Council approved decisions 2020/0378(COD) (Equivalence of forest reproductive material produced in the United Kingdom) and 2020/0379(COD) (Equivalence of field inspections and equivalence of checks on practices for the maintenance of varieties of agricultural plant species carried out in the United Kingdom) in accordance with EP single reading of 11 March. 7.2. Reply from the Commission on the SAIO Coordinators found in Annex II the reply from Commissioner Gentiloni on the impact assessment for the proposal for a Regulation on statistics on agricultural input and output (SAIO). 8. CAP trilogues Ms Müller raised a certain number of issues linked to the CAP trilogues: the conclusions from the super trilogue of 26 March, the planning for future trilogues as well as the limitation in participants imposed by the Council. A letter from the ComAGRI will be sent to President Sassoli on the limitation in participants for the trilogues held at the Council. 8.2. Hearing on "Perspectives of animal production in the EU in the context of the Green Deal, Farm to Fork and Biodiversity Strategies" Mr Dorfmann raised the issue of the identification of experts for this hearing. *** PE691.418v01-00 4/10 PV\1229817EN.docx EN ANNEX I 6.1.   • Commander of Estonian Defence Forces Major General Riho Terras
    Commander of Estonian Defence Forces Major General Riho Terras MG Riho Terras was born on 17 April 1967 in Kohtla-Järve, Estonia. After graduating from the Basic Officer’s Course in Estonia, MG Terras served as a Company Commander and as a Battalion Second in Command of the Kalev Single Infantry Battalion from 1992 to 1993. Between 1993 and 1994 MG Terras served as the commander of the Põhja Single Infantry Company. After graduating from the Bundeswehr University (Germany) he served as the commander of the Guard Battalion from 1998 to 2000. MG Terras was appointed the Chief of Staff of the Defence League Headquarters in 2000. From 2001 to 2004 he served as the Estonian Defence Attaché in Germany and Poland. Between 2005 and 2008 MG Terras served as the Chief of the Analysis and Planning Department and as Chief of the Planning Section, Analysis and Planning Department in the Estonian Defence Forces Headquarters. In 2007, MG Terras served in the NATO Training Mission - Iraq as Deputy Chief of Staff. MG Riho Terras was confirmed on December 2008 as Permanent Secretary of the Estonian Ministry of Defence. Before taking up the position of the Permanent Secretary, he was Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations in the Estonian Defence Forces.
