Intuitivt, musikaliskt, filmiskt, verklighetsfrånvänt - och ändå underligt bekant och nästan obehagligt oroande. Välkommen till Pixies nya studioalbum, “Beneath the Eyrie”, där sagor om häxor, Daniel Boone, missanpassade och andra karaktärer passar perfekt in i bandets medfödda dysfunktionalitet. Skivan innehåller 12 låtar och släpps – både digitalt och fysiskt - idag via Pixies nya label Infectious/BMG. Lyssna på albumet HÄR! Vi har redan fått två smakprov från plattan. Först kom ”On Graveyard Hill”, en klassisk Pixies-berättelse om omedelbar och överhängande undergång, skriven av Black Francis och Paz Lenchantin. För några veckor sedan släpptes “Catfish Kate”, som är en djupdykning i bandets frontman, Black Francis, mentala fantasivärld. ”Beneath The Eyrie” är inspelat i Dreamland Recordings nära Woodstock, NY. Producent är Grammy-nominerade Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Royal Blood, Pixies). Albumet fick sitt namn när David Lovering tog en paus utanför studion (som från början är en kyrka, St Johns Church, byggd i slutet av 1800-talet). Plötsligt upptäckte han ett örnbo, eller ”eyrie”, i ett träd i närheten - och skivans titel var ett faktum. Samtidigt med inspelningarna av albumet valde Pixies att dokumentera varje del av processen och berätta om vad som ägde rum i studion. Detta sammanställdes sen till en podcast i tolv delar som har fått titeln ”It’s A Pixies Podcast”. I podden får vi en unik inblick i hur alla spåren på skivan kom till; från början till slutförandet. Visual applications of colorful jazz and art experiences from childhood memories. Inspired this call to action to memorializes the many past and present Jazz greats of our times. I am one of many artists of [con·science] that embrace this style of artistic expression. Although most art critics don’t see it the way we do as a viable expression in the art world, they just see it as a form of trend gone wrong. It’s just as strong as a renaissance portrait or imaginative abstraction or reaction to the music itself. Just, one of many thoughts on my jazzart journey moving forward. Some paint the the drama in the streets, or the injustice of man in current times. My journey started there when I was a younger artist, it just turned as I continued to play music. The "blank generation" came out of a moral vacuum. While punks roamed the suburban landscape, blue-collar workers were feeling the pinch of an economic revolution: human society had left the industrial age and entered the post-industrial age, the age in which services (such as software) prevail over manufacturing. Computers now rule the world, from Wall Street to Boeing. The assembly line took away a bit of the personality of the worker, but that was nothing: the new service- based economy takes away the worker completely, physically. In the post-industrial society the individual is even less of a "person". The individual is merely a cog in a huge organism of interconnected parts that works at the beat of a gigantic network of computers. This highly sophisticated economy treats the individual as a number, as a statistic. The goal is no longer to create a robot that behaves like a human being, but to create a human being that behaves like a robot: robots are efficient and lead to manageable and profitable businesses, whereas humans are inefficient and difficult to manage.
