Major Sponsors: Runner’s Alley, Manchester, NH; New Balance Corporation Weston Observatory at Derryfield Park, 1915 FORTY-ONE YEARS AND STILL RUNNING WELCOME AND THANK YOU Welcome to the 41st Annual Manchester Invitational Cross Country Meet. Forty years ago, on September 27, 1975, the first Manchester Invitational was held. That day, seven girls’ teams and nine boys’ teams competed. Today, the invitational hosts more than 300 teams annually, and more than 55,000 runners have competed. The first meet was a collaboration of former Central girls’ coach Mike Clemons and former Memorial boys’ and girls’ coach, Doug Glance. In 1981, the meet nearly met its end, but thanks to the hard work of former Central girls’ coach Joe O’Neil, the Invitational regained its heartbeat. After Doug Glance became the Central boys’ coach in 1984, Joe and Doug worked hard to turn the Invitational into the showcase it is now. Today’s directors are former Central girls’ cross country coach, Kelly Fox, and current Central girls’ cross country coach, Christine Shaw. Many of New Hampshire’s most promising young male and female runners have gone on to compete in college after making their mark at the invitational. These include: Memorial’s Marty Shea (Boston University) and Chris Capistran (Georgetown); Central’s Ellen O’Neil (Dartmouth), Emily Hodgsen (Dartmouth), Larry Reed (Providence), Liz Gesel (Villanova), Megan Lessard (Columbia), Alex Hall (Dartmouth), Cory Sinotte (UNH) and Arianna Vailas (Dartmouth); Mascenic’s Jacy Christiansen (Liberty); Keene’s Emily Cartwright (UNH), Chloe Maleski (Duke) and Eliza Webber (Brown); Oyster River’s Marina Slavin (UNH); Nashua’s John Schroeder (Dartmouth); Pinkerton’s Craig MacPherson (Keene State) and Matt Downin (Wisconsin); Winnacunnet’s Colin Ingram (Dartmouth); Hanover’s Heidi Caldwell (Brown), Georgia Griffin (Stanford), Aaron Watanabe (Harvard); Concord’s Guor Majak (Iowa State, 2012 Olympics) and Rachel Umberger (UNH); Oyster River’s Eyob Eyualem (NC State); Timberlane’s Jason Vanderhoof (Wisconsin); Londonderry’s John Mortimer (Michigan) and Todd Swenson (William & Mary); Spaulding’s Danyelle Wood (UConn); Conant’s Andrea Walkonen (Boston University); Bishop Guertin’s Geoff Nickerson (Dartmouth), Francis Hernandez (Providence), Anthony Merra (Columbia) and Jeff LaCoste (High Point); Exeter’s Kelsey Smith (Georgetown); Monadnock’s Erica Palmer (Wisconsin); Dover’s Tony Truax (UNH); Portsmouth’s Cory Thorne (Louisville); ConVal’s Alex McGrath (William & Mary); and St. Thomas Aquinas’s Rachel Schneider (Georgetown). This program would not be complete without acknowledging the dedication of former Pinkerton coach, Tom McGrath. For more than 30 years, Tom served as the announcer at this meet, as well as at many others throughout the state. Recognized as “The Voice of New Hampshire Cross Country”, this year’s meet will likely seem lacking without his deep voice broadcasting athletes’ names as they climb the grueling 200 yards to the finish. The Manchester Invitational Committee is grateful to have had Tom McGrath as part of our event for as long as he was. To that end, we created the Tom McGrath Dedication of Service Award to recognize others who put their heart and soul into this event, and New Hampshire Cross Country, year after year. This event is the product of hard work, time, dedication, cooperation and financial support from numerous organizations, businesses, individuals, and participating schools. The Invitational Committee would like to express its thanks to Jeanine Sylvester, Runner’s Alley; New Balance Corporation; Bill Sullivan, Crown Trophy; the Manchester School District; Don Pinard, Chief of Parks and Recreation; John Mortimer, Millenium Running and all of the volunteers who have been the essence of this meet for the past forty years. We are also thankful to the NH Cross Country and Track Officials for their efforts. On behalf of the Manchester Invitational Classic, we wish all athletes the greatest success in today’s meet and in the remainder of their cross-country season. • DOCTRINE of the MILLENNIUM May 26, 1987
DOCTRINE OF THE MILLENNIUM May 26, 1987 I. Definition: it constitutes the final 1,000 years of human history before the eternal state, extending from the Second Advent to the dissolution of original creation (Rev.20:2-7; cp. 20:11ff; 21:1). II. Synonyms. A. Thousand years (6X in Rev.20:2-7). B. Summer (Mt.24:32). C. Wedding supper (Rev.19:9; cp. Mt.25:1-13; 22:1ff). D. Rest (Jer.50:34; 30:10; 46:27; Zech.1:11). E. Kingdom of God (heaven; Dan.2:44,45; 7:13,14; Mt.25:1ff; 2Tim.4:1; 1Cor.15:24). F. Times of refreshing (Act.3:19). G. Time of restoration (Act.3:21). H. Day of the Lord (2Pet.3:10). This includes the Tribulation and 1,000 years. The Age of Aquarius (circa.2000), when peace will rule the planets. III. False views. A. Amillennial: says the 1,000 year references are figurative and that the present age is the Millennium. Augustine advanced this view in his work "City of God". The popular, modified Augustinian view espoused by modern amillennialists equates the Millennium with believers reigning with Christ in heaven. The binding of Satan is figurative for Christ's triumph over him at the Cross. Their Millennium ends with the second coming. For instance, the first resurrection is the Christian soul going to heaven at death, and the second resurrection is the resurrection of all men. B. Postmillennial: believe the gospel will be triumphant in the last 1,000 years of history and, when the world is converted, Christ will return.

Who will occupy the Millennial Kingdom? Will David reign with Jesus in the Millennial Kingdom? Will there be animal sacrifices during the millennial kingdom? What is the purpose of the thousand-year reign of Christ? The Theocratic Kingdom - Volume 1-3 (Click index to Volume 1) Although written in 1883, The Theocratic Kingdom stands as one of the single best expositions on the kingdom of God (including the Millennial Kingdom) ever written. In 1883 George Peters published his 3 volume magnum opus which is now available online. Links to Pdf's of each volume are listed below in addition to a link to Volume 1 (698 pages) in a rich text format (MS Word document). The Pdf downloads are huge, so be patient as the three volumes total more than 2000 pages. In 1952, Dr. Wilbur Smith writing a preface to the Theocratic Kingdom work said in his opening remarks that. "No writer of a major work in the field of Biblical interpretation in modern times could have lived and died in greater oblivion, and experienced less recognition for a great piece of work, than the author of these three great volumes devoted to Biblical prophecy . Yet, this clergyman, never becoming nationally famous, never serving large churches, passing away in such comparative obscurity . wrote the most important single work on Biblical predictive prophecy to appear in this country at any time during the nineteenth century.

PREFACE TO THE FIFTH EDITION. The Lord has been pleased to own the testimony of this little volume to the truth of His pre-millennial advent, far beyond any expectation of the measure of its acceptance, at the time it was written. Sent forth in much weakness, it has led many to study the teach¬ ings of His own word; and thus having learned to “love his appearing,” (2 Tim. iv: 8), they are now eagerly “looking for that blessed hope,” (Tit. ii: 13). Again is it sent forth with the prayer that He will graciously use it still more, to awaken the attention of His beloved ones to the last promise that fell from His lips, “ Surely I come quickly,” and to call forth from their hearts the longing response, “ Even so, come, Lord Jesus,” (Rev. xxii: 20). WHY LITERAL SACRIFICES IN THE MILLENNIUM Tom's Perspectives by Thomas Ice A common objection to the consistent literal interpretation of Bible prophecy is found in Ezekiel’s Temple vision (Ezek. 40—48). Opponents argue that if this is a literal, future Temple, then it will require a return to the sacrificial system that Christ made obsolete since the prophet speaks of “atonement” (kiper) in Ezekiel 43:13, 27; 45:15, 17, 20. This is true! Critics believe this to be a blasphemous contradiction to the finished work of Christ as presented in Hebrews 10. Hank Hanegraaff says that I have “exacerbated the problem by stating that without animal sacrifices in the Millennium, Yahweh’s holiness would be defiled. That, for obvious reasons, is blasphemous.” He further says that such a view constitutes a return “to Old Covenant sacrifices.”1 “Is it heretical to believe that a Temple and sacrifices will once again exist,” ask John Schmitt and Carl Laney? “Ezekiel himself believed it was a reality and the future home of Messiah.

  • The Millennium Breach the American Dilemma, Richer and Poorer
The Millennium Breach The American Dilemma, Richer and Poorer In Commemoration of the Thirtieth Anniversary of the National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders Executive Summary Second Edition, 1998 The Milton S. Eisenhower Foundation and The Corporation for What Works "Our nation is moving toward two societies, one black, one white—separate and unequal." On March 1, 1968, in the wake of riots in Detroit and Newark, and with more riots soon to come after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, that was the conclusion of the National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders—the Kerner Riot Commission, named after its chair, then-governor of Illinois Otto Kerner. Thirty years to the day, on March 1, 1998, the Milton S. Eisenhower Foundation released an update of the Kerner Commission. This is the second edition to the update. The original Commission concentrated on African-Americans and inner cities. To provide continuity, much of this update is similarly focused. At the same time, the report is sensitive to rapidly expanding disparities in income and wealth that are class-based, embraces all inner city minorities in poverty, and respects today's more complex, multicultural diversity—particularly the growing proportions of Hispanics and Asian- Americans in urban areas. The report tries to answer these questions: • What happened over the last thirty years? What are the facts on which to build an inner city policy for the new millennium? • What policy doesn't work? • What policy works? • What is the cost of replicating what works to scale and how can it be financed? • What are the major political obstacles against replicating to scale? • What is the political feasibility of a policy based on what works? • What political alliance is needed to generate political will? What Are The Facts? The Kerner Commission proposed remedies to racial, spatial and economic disparity.

  • The Bible's Watchword: Day of the Lord
MSJ 22/1 (Spring 2011) 65-88 THE BIBLE’S WATCHWORD: DAY OF THE LORD Richard L. Mayhue, Th.D. Executive Vice President and Dean Professor of Theology and Pastoral Ministry The Master’s Seminary The biblical phrase “Day of the Lord” (DOL) stands as a key term in understanding God’s revelation about the future.1 The NT writers’ use of DOL rested upon their understanding of the OT prophets. A survey of the OT indicates that it was used by the prophets when speaking of both near historical and future eschatological events involving God’s wrath. The NT writers picked up on the eschatological use and applied DOL both to the judgment which will climax the Tribulation period and the judgment which will usher in the new earth. This view is not only compatible with but also strengthens the case for Futuristic Premillennialism and a Pretribulational Rapture. * * * * * Because “day of the Lord” appears so frequently in Scripture, it is incumbent upon the Bible interpreter/expositor to get it right. The implications are not minor. Yet, it is one of the most hotly contested elements in the field of eschatology. This writer’s approach has been to follow a basic protocol: 1. Determine what DOL meant to OT authors. 2. Assume that with nineteen appearances of DOL in the OT, then this meaning was carried forward to the four NT occurrences. 3. Test this thesis to see how it relates to a dispensational/futuristic eschatology. DOL appears in four uncontested NT passages (Acts 2:20; 1 Thess 5:2; 2 Thess 2:2; and 2 Pet 3:10).
