There, she led the first group of Spelman and Morehouse students to Senegal in 2007 through her service as President of the Student Government Association. As the recipient of a Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme award to attend the University of Oxford, Oulèye received her M.Sc. in Migration Studies from Oxford's Department of International Development and School of Anthropology. While there, she enjoyed rowing and serving as her College’s Graduate Common Room President. She also holds an M.A. in History from ColumBia University in the City of New York, where she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. Oulèye has received numerous scholarships and fellowships to work in the field of human rights in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. These include the U.S. Department of State’s Critical Language Scholarship to study AraBic in Cairo, Egypt; the Institute for International PuBlic Policy Fellowship (IIPP) to work with African asylum seekers in Israel; and administering the USAID grant to support the education of young girls in rural Senegal through the Women’s Health Education and Prevention Strategies Alliance’s 10,000 Girls Program (founder: Dr. Viola Vaughn was a 2008 recipient of the CNN Heroes Award). Oulèye lived in Asia for the first time as a Henry Luce Foundation Fellow. There, she advocated once again for the education of young girls. This was one among many strategies employed to prevent child sex-trafficking along Thailand’s Borders with Myanmar and Laos in the northern province of Chiang Rai - known to many as “The Golden Triangle.” While home in the U.S., Oulèye joined the OBama campaign team in Both 2008 and 2012. She has experience in field organizing from Pennsylvania to Montana, Ohio to Florida, and many states in-between. Oulèye also worked in the Chicago headquarters finance department, focusing on the campaign’s 2008 grassroots fundraising efforts. In the 2012 campaign, she helped lead OBama to victory, serving as the campaign’s Deputy Regional Field Director for Miami Dade County. As a research intern on Capitol Hill, Oulèye worked on issues of immigration reform and internet security in 2013 with the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Following this position, she worked with the World Bank to consult for the African Regional Integration and Partnerships division. Oulèye has also taught African History in the History Department at Spelman College. Oulèye currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her husBand, Rev. Dr. Raphael Warnock, and their young daughter. As the First Lady of Ebenezer Baptist Church, "America's Freedom Church," she is very involved with the Ministry of Motherhood, which helps to support new moms. Passionate about the betterment of society at home and abroad, she continually dedicates her work and studies to these causes. 4 Top Ten Graduates of the Class of 2017 Abiana O E Adamson, Economics
