Ruckman All rights reserved (PRINT) ISBN 1-58026-200-7 BB BOOKSTORE P.O. Box 7135 Pensacola, FL 32534 PUBLISHER’S NOTE The Scripture quotations found herein are from the text of the Authorized King James Version of the Bible. Any deviations therefrom are not intentional. Table of Contents About The New Scofield Reference Bible About The New Scofield Reference Bible Now we are going to get highly technical tonight, but we aren’t going to be any more critical of the New Scofield Reference Bible than the New Scofield board of editors were of the King James Bible. Those of us who believe the King James Bible have a great advantage over those who don’t. That is, we can be just as critical as we want toward any of its revisors or correctors because their attitude towards it is appalling, if not downright atrocious; and that is not an overstatement. (I have often been accused of overstatement by ignorant people who don’t check facts.) The attacks made upon the Authorized Bible by conservatives are such that the worst thing one could say about the attackers wouldn’t be enough. In this message we want to show the Christian, the born-again child of God (the true Bible-believer), why he should never be deceived for a minute by such non-Christian publications as the New American Standard Version or its sister, the American Standard Version, 1901, or this watered-down, anemic edition I have in my lap called the New Scofield Reference Bible. -

DOCTRINE of the MILLENNIUM May 26, 1987
DOCTRINE OF THE MILLENNIUM May 26, 1987 I. Definition: it constitutes the final 1,000 years of human history before the eternal state, extending from the Second Advent to the dissolution of original creation (Rev.20:2-7; cp. 20:11ff; 21:1). II. Synonyms. A. Thousand years (6X in Rev.20:2-7). B. Summer (Mt.24:32). C. Wedding supper (Rev.19:9; cp. Mt.25:1-13; 22:1ff). D. Rest (Jer.50:34; 30:10; 46:27; Zech.1:11). E. Kingdom of God (heaven; Dan.2:44,45; 7:13,14; Mt.25:1ff; 2Tim.4:1; 1Cor.15:24). F. Times of refreshing (Act.3:19). G. Time of restoration (Act.3:21). H. Day of the Lord (2Pet.3:10). This includes the Tribulation and 1,000 years. The Age of Aquarius (circa.2000), when peace will rule the planets. III. False views. A. Amillennial: says the 1,000 year references are figurative and that the present age is the Millennium. Augustine advanced this view in his work "City of God". The popular, modified Augustinian view espoused by modern amillennialists equates the Millennium with believers reigning with Christ in heaven. The binding of Satan is figurative for Christ's triumph over him at the Cross. Their Millennium ends with the second coming. For instance, the first resurrection is the Christian soul going to heaven at death, and the second resurrection is the resurrection of all men. B. Postmillennial: believe the gospel will be triumphant in the last 1,000 years of history and, when the world is converted, Christ will return. -

Who will occupy the Millennial Kingdom? Will David reign with Jesus in the Millennial Kingdom? Will there be animal sacrifices during the millennial kingdom? What is the purpose of the thousand-year reign of Christ? The Theocratic Kingdom - Volume 1-3 (Click index to Volume 1) Although written in 1883, The Theocratic Kingdom stands as one of the single best expositions on the kingdom of God (including the Millennial Kingdom) ever written. In 1883 George Peters published his 3 volume magnum opus which is now available online. Links to Pdf's of each volume are listed below in addition to a link to Volume 1 (698 pages) in a rich text format (MS Word document). The Pdf downloads are huge, so be patient as the three volumes total more than 2000 pages. In 1952, Dr. Wilbur Smith writing a preface to the Theocratic Kingdom work said in his opening remarks that. "No writer of a major work in the field of Biblical interpretation in modern times could have lived and died in greater oblivion, and experienced less recognition for a great piece of work, than the author of these three great volumes devoted to Biblical prophecy . Yet, this clergyman, never becoming nationally famous, never serving large churches, passing away in such comparative obscurity . wrote the most important single work on Biblical predictive prophecy to appear in this country at any time during the nineteenth century. -

BROOKES, Author of “How to be Saved,” “Mat Christians Dance, “ Gospel Hymns,” “ The Way Made Plain,” &c. FIFTH EDITION. ST. LOUIS: EDWARD BREDELL, PUBLISHER 212 N. Fifth Street. PREFACE TO THE FIFTH EDITION. The Lord has been pleased to own the testimony of this little volume to the truth of His pre-millennial advent, far beyond any expectation of the measure of its acceptance, at the time it was written. Sent forth in much weakness, it has led many to study the teach¬ ings of His own word; and thus having learned to “love his appearing,” (2 Tim. iv: 8), they are now eagerly “looking for that blessed hope,” (Tit. ii: 13). Again is it sent forth with the prayer that He will graciously use it still more, to awaken the attention of His beloved ones to the last promise that fell from His lips, “ Surely I come quickly,” and to call forth from their hearts the longing response, “ Even so, come, Lord Jesus,” (Rev. xxii: 20). WHY LITERAL SACRIFICES IN THE MILLENNIUM Tom's Perspectives by Thomas Ice A common objection to the consistent literal interpretation of Bible prophecy is found in Ezekiel’s Temple vision (Ezek. 40—48). Opponents argue that if this is a literal, future Temple, then it will require a return to the sacrificial system that Christ made obsolete since the prophet speaks of “atonement” (kiper) in Ezekiel 43:13, 27; 45:15, 17, 20. This is true! Critics believe this to be a blasphemous contradiction to the finished work of Christ as presented in Hebrews 10. Hank Hanegraaff says that I have “exacerbated the problem by stating that without animal sacrifices in the Millennium, Yahweh’s holiness would be defiled. That, for obvious reasons, is blasphemous.” He further says that such a view constitutes a return “to Old Covenant sacrifices.”1 “Is it heretical to believe that a Temple and sacrifices will once again exist,” ask John Schmitt and Carl Laney? “Ezekiel himself believed it was a reality and the future home of Messiah. -
1.3.3 Parousia/The Day of the Lord/ Millennial Kingdom Prophecies the Key to Separating the Two Eschatological Comings of the Me
The Need for Teaching the Eschatological Gospel of Both Comings of Jesus Christ in the 21st Century . 1.3.3 Parousia/The Day of the Lord/ Millennial Kingdom Prophecies The key to separating the two eschatological comings of the Messiah in the Old Testament prophecies is in the differing purpose for each coming. The First Coming involves ―the suffering servant‖ of Isaiah for the atonement of the sin of humanity and reconciling/restoring relationship with Yahweh. The Second Coming (Parousia) involves the glorious ―King of Kings and Lord of Lords‖ of Revelation coming to complete the salvation of His beloved Body (the Church) through physical resurrection and rapture, to judge the earth for its sins (day of the Lord), and to set up His kingdom on earth for one thousand years (Millennium). Many of the prophecies concerning the First Advent of the Messiah for salvation also contain prophecies concerning the Parousia for judgment. There are also specific prophecies concerning the ―day of the Lord‖ or ―day of Yahweh‖ in regards to judgment. Finally, the Old Testament contains promises of hope and restoration of the kingdom for Yahweh’s chosen people on earth (the Millennium). All of these types of prophecies are seen in the prophetic eschatological fulfillment of the last three Old Testament annual feasts: Trumpets, Atonement and Booths or Tabernacles. The Feast of Trumpets will be fulfilled by Jesus Christ returning in the clouds for His Body (the Rapture of the Church), at the beginning of the Parousia and before the antichrist appears/the Tribulation begins (Lev 23:23-5—1 Thess 4:14-17; Luke 21:36; Acts 1:8-11). -
Day of the Lord Precursors?
56! Calvmy Boptist Theolot9cal Joumol I Fall1991 ,Day of the Lord Precursors? Phil Piccolo The term "The Day of the Lord" (hereafter designated by DOL) and its many variations play a significant and vital part in the events of eschatology. There are many prophetic passages speaking of the end times which involve some concept of DOL Given the many schools of thought and interpretation in eschatology, there has been much confusion and debate over the meaning of this term and how it relates to the events of the last days.' It is no surprise that DOL plays a significant role in the current debate on the rapture question which has been initiated by the publication of The Pre-Wrath Rapture of the Church by Marvin Rosenthal. In his book Rosenthal claims that "DOL is one of the most important truths to comprehend if the full-orbed scheme of end time events is to be understood."' He goes on to state that "It is one of the most important terms to understand in a discussion of prophetic truth."' Those who have opposed Rosenthal's pre-wrath rapture view agree with his assessment of the important role of DOL Paul Karleen ably refutes claims by Rosenthal that there are no blessings associated with DOL, thereby proving that DOL extends in some sense to the end of the millennium. • Both Karleen and Renald Showers refute Rosenthal's claim the DOL begins with the 7th seal and his rapture position -- giving evidence that DOL begins with the 70th week of Daniel and includes the first four seals of Revelation.' Since DOL has been shown to begin with the 70th -

Antichrist As (Anti)Charisma: Reflections on Weber and the ‘Son of Perdition’

Envisioned as a false-messiah, deceptive miracle-worker, and prophet of evil, Antichrist inversely embodies many of the qualities and characteristics associated with Max Weber’s concept of charisma. This essay explores early Christian, medieval, and contemporary depictions of Antichrist and the imagined political circumstances of his reign as manifesting the notion of (anti)charisma, compelling but misleading charismatic political and religious leadership oriented toward damnation rather than redemption. Keywords: apocalypticism; charisma; Weber; antichrist; Bible; US presidency 1. Introduction: Obama, Antichrist, and Weber On 4 November 2012, just two days before the most recent US presidential election, Texas “Megachurch” pastor Robert Jeffress (1956– ) proclaimed that a vote for the incumbent candidate Barack Obama (1961– ) represented a vote for the coming of Antichrist. “President Obama is not the Antichrist,” Jeffress qualified to his listeners, “But what I am saying is this: the course he is choosing to lead our nation is paving the way for the future reign of Antichrist” [1]. -
