DESCRIPTION. Lovedays House is a prominent and impressive mid 18th Century family house, believed to have been built circa 1740 by the Loveday family. Once used as the vicarage, Lovedays Ho use is full of original character features including the striking Queen Anne façade with ashlar five bayed frontage, rusticated quoins, fluted pilasters to the eight field panelled door and a doorway with Doric frieze and segmental pediment over and sash w indows with working shutters. The roof is stone tiled with modillion eaves and cornice. The attached cottage to the left of the main house is Cotswold stone and is thought to date back to the mid 17th Century, it is now very much part of the house and is c urrently used as the main entrance hallway. The main interior is extremely elegant and unspoiled by the later minor additions to the property. A particular feature of the property is the large landscaped south easterly facing gardens, which for a property within the centre of the village, are of a particularly good size. A lovely covered Loggia is clad with mature wisteria, the lawn is a good size and is level flanked by flower borders, herbaceous borders, a paved terrace, a lovely detached Cotswold stone p otting shed and far reaching views over the church, the village and the Painswick valley. The accommodation at Lovedays House is versatile and fully centrally heated.
