- Arquitectura y ciudad. - Promotores, mecenas, ideólogos, artífices. Específicas: - Diego de Riaño y la Baja Andalucía. - Diego Siloé y la Andalucía Oriental. - La transición al Renacimiento en otros ámbitos. Deadline: 15 de diciembre de 2019 http://gestioneventos.us.es/38059/detail/congreso-dr-ds.html?fbclid=IwAR2SkouJgF_xE-Ge85yl gLM1ZURkC-uZY070EabjKUy6QPWr5SP8zHgjGK4 --------------------- The call for papers is open for the DR-DS 2020 International Congress, which will be hosted in the cities of Seville and Granada, from the 11th to the 15th of May, 2020. The congress will include inaugural and closing conferences by professors Amadeo Serra, from the Universitat de València, and Fernando Marías, from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, as well as a number of highly qualified guest speakers. The great transformation experienced by Spanish architecture during the reign of Emperor Charles V finds a brilliant and diverse expression in the activity of Diego de Riaño and Diego Siloé. Both masters, one working in the Sevillian metropolis and the other in the former Nazari capital, the last bastion of Islam on the Peninsula, defined two very different models of operation, both of which, in the first decades of the 16th century, produced some of the pioneering architecture in Spain with a fully Renaissance language. This congress proposes an approach to the figure of these two great architects in the context of the transition to the Renaissance in Spain. Their reference is also intended to serve as a pretext for tackling similar phenomena from a broader perspective, incorporating methodological and historiographic problems within a European framework. The organisers invite national and international researchers to an event that builds a cooperative space for interdisciplinary dialogue, that offers an attractive and combining programme of keynotes and plenary sesions given by experts in the field, with the presentation of unpublished papers, previously selected by a scientific committee. The book chapters will be published gathering all contributions. Papers are subject to evaluation using a double-blind peer reviewed system as a synonym of scientific quality. For post-graduate students, the organization will issue a certificate for the recognition of the congress as an academic activity if necessary. 2/3 ArtHist.net Development of Congress The congress will be hosted in Seville and Granada. The organization will be responsible for the transport between the two cities. The sessions will begin on the 11th May in the city of Sevilla, where the openning will take place. In addition to the sessions, you will be able to visit the cathedral of Seville with special attention to the main sacristy, as well as the city council, both works designed by Diego de Riaño. On the 13th the congress will be transferred to Granada, where the sessions will continue and the closing conference will take place. Another tour is planned to visit the cathedral of the Incarnation, designed by Diego Siloé, as well as Charles V's palace, designed by Pedro Machuca. Topics General: - Theoretical and historiographic approaches. - Graphic and documentary testimonials. - Science and technology. - Architecture and city. - Promoters, patrons, ideologists, artificers. Specific: - Diego de Riaño and Lower Andalusia. - Diego Siloé and Eastern Andalusia. - The transition to Renaissance in other areas. Deadline: December 15, 2019 The abstracts (1000 words maximum) should be send through: http://gestioneventos.us.es/38059/section/21403/congreso-dr-ds.html Quellennachweis: CFP: La Arquitectura en la Transición (Sevilla/Granada, 11-15 May 20). The inherent randomness, external noise and uncertainty in those phenomena are captured by using stochastic and probabilistic strategies. Rather than being an alternative to more classical modeling frameworks, like ordinary differential equations, membrane systems constitute a complementary approach to be used when the classical modeling approaches fail to specify and simulate certain population’s biology correctly. In this talk, a membrane system based general framework for modeling the dynamics of population biology computationally is presented, and some applications to phenomena at micro (quorum sensing) and macro (real ecosystem) levels are described.

  • Diego Siloe, Autor Del Sepulcro De Don Antonio De Rojas

  • Granada Information
Granada Information (With thanks to Wikipedia, Wiki travel, Lonely Planet and other websites for the following information) General Information: Granada is the capital city of the province of Granada, in Andalusia, Spain, and is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, at the confluence of four rivers, the Beiro, the Darro, the Genil and the Monachil. It sits at an average elevation of 738 m above sea level, yet is only one hour by car from the Mediterranean coast, the Costa Tropical. Internationally revered for its lavish Alhambra palace, and enshrined in medieval history as the last stronghold of the Moors in Western Europe, Granada is the darker, more complicated cousin of sunny, exuberant Seville. Humming with a feisty cosmopolitanism and awash with riddles, question marks, contradictions and myths, this is a place to put down your guidebook and let your intuition lead the way – through the narrow ascending streets of the Albayzín, and the tumbling white-walled house gardens of the Realejo quarter. Elegant yet edgy, grandiose but gritty, monumental but marked by pockets of stirring graffiti, 21st-century Granada is anything but straightforward. Instead, this sometimes stunning, sometimes ugly city set spectacularly in the crook of the Sierra Nevada is an enigmatic place where – if the mood is right – you sense you might find something that you’ve long been looking for. A free tapa, perhaps? An inspirational piece of street art? A flamenco performance that finally unmasks the intangible spirit of dude? Endowed with relics from various epochs of history, there’s lots to do and plenty to admire in Granada: the mausoleum of the Catholic monarchs, old- school bars selling generous tapas, bohemian teterías where Arabic youths smoke cachimbas (hookah pipes), and an exciting nightlife that bristles with the creative aura of counterculture.

  • EMPEROR CHARLES V AS PATRON OFTHE VISUAL ARTS Earl. E
EMPEROR CHARLES V AS PATRON OFTHE VISUAL ARTS Earl. SUMMARY The art commissions of Charles V about which we have sorne detailed information do not support recent claims that he was an active patronwho had a personal impact on the visual arts and used them to fashion his own «imperial image». The works «he ordered made» can often be described as «titular» or «institutional» rather than personal commissions. The initial ímpetus usually carne from vassals and the works were almost always supervised and determined in style and in specific form by others. The few commissions he clearly initiated and supervised do not reveal a personal aesthetics nor an image-making intent. That was left to his subjects. For students of art patronage, Charles I of Spain and V of the Holy Roman Empire is an irresistible subject, because hundreds of works of art and architecture were made in his name throughout his two empires.

He was a member of one of the era's most influential noble families and a stand-in and envoy of the Archbishop of Toledo, Cardinal Francisco Jiménez de Cisneros, to the court of Ferdinand the Catholic in Spain and that of the future Emperor Charles V in Flanders. Afterwards, he played an influential role in the spread of Italian Renaissance aesthetics in Spain as superintendent of works at the Toledo Cathedral for nearly forty years. He also translated into Spanish the prose sections of two Italian works, the Questioni d'amore of Giovanni Boccaccio's Filocolo (Treze questiones) and the Arcadia of Jacopo Sannazaro. Past scholarship on López de Ayala has often considered minimal his political and literary roles.
