Party On Phlock… 2020 was to bring our phourth “Great Event” gathering phriends from around the country for a weekend of phun, phellowship and incredible trop rock bands. Instead 2020 brought our worlds to a screeching halt. Gatherings were cancelled, concerts were only via social media, telecommuting to work became common place as people feared being anywhere without gloves, masks, and social distancing. Our crew had gathered to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. Green feathers were afloat, along with Boat Drinks, when the news flashed like an erupting Volcano through the room. Orders had just been released to close all restaurants and bars at midnight. We sat there in disbelief, mouths agape – this could not be true! Shut down till the end of April? Why, no such thing could happen. Not here. Not in America. The land of the free and home of the brave. How could anyone have surmised we would still be restricted months later with no real end date in sight? As the days turned into weeks, then months, we began to wonder if we would be able to gather again. And, if we did, what would it be like in this black hole called 2020? Were we just Waiting for the Next Explosion? We needed Changes in Attitudes, not just Latitudes. Thanks to a Coconut Telegraph aka Zoom, The Hang Out Gang pushed forward with our Friday Happy Hour. Learning how to play shot games online; wait patiently for our turn to talk; setting up background beach scenes; and encouraging each other to be cautious and stay well.

JWB Prime Steak and Seafood now open at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort March 23, 201610:04 AM MST JWB Prime Steak and Seafood is located within the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida. The newest dining concept to hit Margaritaville, JWB Prime Steak and Seafood, is now open at the new Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort. Located on the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk in Hollywood, Florida, this all-new dining concept for the Margaritaville brand gives resort guests and local residents the chance to enjoy fresh cuisine in a unique and elegant coastal setting. JWB takes its name from none other than James (Jimmy) William Buffett. It is located in the main lobby of the new Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort. JWB’s takes the Margaritaville lifestyle and blends it with authentic yet upscale South Florida touches. As with other eateries in the Margaritaville family, guests can expect to find some of their favorite songs implemented into the JWB menu. JWB is the eighth and final food and beverage venue to open at the resort, which opened in the fall of 2015. The restaurant features a full bar, open-air kitchen, a wine cellar wall and a main dining room that seats up to 135. There is also a private dining room for small groups and business, corporate or social functions. “JWB is an entirely new concept for Margaritaville and we could not be more delighted to have it make its debut at our beautiful new resort,” said Cate Farmer, General Manager. “This restaurant carefully combines the very best elements of the Margaritaville lifestyle in an intimate and casual yet sophisticated atmosphere we believe people will find truly refreshing.” Reclaimed brick walls, aged hardwood floors and ocean blue drapes give a casually elegant look to the restaurant.

Margaritaville Jimmy’s love affair with flying is now in full bloom. And as in most love affairs, there’s an element of surprise, including an attempted homicide and neardrowning.“Afewhours ago,as this Looks At Twenty pirate was looking atforty,I remembered thatI had vowed to get my private license by that time. My flying days go back to my misspent years at the University of Southern Mississippi where my good friend, BobbyVincent, introduced me to flying. Bobby wenton to flyfighters forthe Navy, and I discovered women, the guitar, and poverty, so flying went out the window. Time and again I would occasionallytryto pickup where I had leftoffwith myflying lessons, butI neversaw itthrough until the deadline I setformyselfapproached, and then I gotserious The Hemisphere Dancer afloat Taking offand landing in the waterheld a romantic fascination for me.The plane I bought was a Lake Renegade,a single-engine amphibian.I christened her Lady of the Waters and hired an instructor to come down to Key West to teach me to fly. Now,to a former alter boy, that kind of monetary investment certainlyprovided enough guilt-incentive to studyhard.Studying doesn’tcome easilyto me;I wasn’tmuch good atitwhen I was supposed to be doing it.Butsixmonths laterI was the proud bearerofa single-engine land-and-rating.” Several years later a bigger plane served as target practice for local uniformed sharpshooters in Negril, Jamaica.
