Mohegan Sun Press Luncheon Mohegan Sun’s “Casino of the Wind” Opened August 29th, 2008 Project Description DESCRIPTION:The 64,000 square-foot Casino of the Wind is located adjacent to Casino of the Sky and features 45,000 square feet of new gaming space, a 16,000 square-foot Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant and retail outlet and a 60-seat Chief’s Deli quick-service food outlet. DESIGN FEATURES: Drawing inspiration from solar phenomena, artistic representations of some of the Mohegan Tribe’s most timeless traditions are highlighted, including the spirits of the four winds: north, south, east and west. • In Tribal traditions, the power of wind harkens back to the Creation Story • A 35-foot high, 50-foot wide electronic and animated water wall acts as an immense projection screen • Feature bar is surrounded by a 35-foot stacked solid glass clad column and theme lights • Customized chandeliers MARGARITAVILLE: Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, a multi-level restaurant, takes diners from the woodlands of Connecticut to the warm beaches of the Florida Keys. • 16,000 square feet, seating approximately 375 • Terrace overlooking the Thames River, making it the only venue with a waterfront view at Mohegan Sun • Live music and video programming • Retail outlet • Décor includes tiki huts, palm trees, sailboats and marine life, as well as a 30-foot spinning waterspout and 8-foot tall giant blender • Menu items include Cheeseburger in Paradise, Jamaica Mistaica Wings, Calypso Mahi Mahi and Key Lime Pie • Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville at Mohegan Sun is the only location in New England -more- Casino of the Wind Fact Sheet, Pg 2. CHIEF’S DELI The 2,600 square-foot quick-service restaurant returns to Mohegan Sun after a two year hiatus. • Seating is available for 60 guests • The walk-up restaurant features soups, salads, lox, grilled and cold sandwiches, desserts and a sandwich honoring late Mohegan Tribal Chief Ralph Sturges POKER: Mohegan Sun introduces a 42-table poker room located at the rear of Casino of the Wind. • Games including Omaha, Texas Hold’Em and Seven-Card Stud • Over twenty-three 50-inch television screens are intricately placed throughout the room • A step up from the main floor is a semi-private 7- table high limit poker area • As part of Casino of the Wind’s grand opening, one of the largest prize pools on the East Coast will be featured with Mohegan Sun’s Super Stack Tournament on October 1st; the finals will be played from October 22nd through the 26th GAMING: Casino of the Wind features 45,000 square feet of gaming space and compliments Mohegan Sun’s current 300,000 square feet of gaming space. • Over 650 new slot machines including new titles from slot manufacturers IGT, WMS, Bally and Aristocrat • Approximately 28 additional table games have been added including 20 Blackjack tables, 1 ADA Blackjack (handicapped) table, 3 Craps tables and 4 Roulette tables..

The OCPHC was the national host for The Last Mango in Irvine Party. Word of the party went out on the club Facebook page and a pre-concert tailgate was planned near the event. Several club members joined the official Club RV to help prepare for the party. Much to our surprise, more than 10 additional RVs from all across the country joined us to get ready and gear up for the concert. Our old friend Jimmy Groovy showed up in costume and added to the pre-concert fun. Once inside the parking lot, Jerry Gontang played to the huge crowd In This Issue around the OCPHC event site. A.J.’s famous Cheeseburgers in Paradise were on the grill all were partying just like Bubba does in Pg 1: Last Mango in Irvine preparation for the concert. Once inside the venue, Jimmy and the CRB did not disappoint. The 26 song set included a tribute to Jimmy’s Pg 2: Andy’s Irvine Letter friend, Glenn Frey of The Eagles, who recently passed away. The show concluded in appropriate fashion with an acoustic version Pg 3: Tilleritaville of Lovely Cruise. Several club members related to the fact that they saw the first and last Buffett shows at Irvine Pg 4-7: Tales From MOTM Meadows.

    Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Retail Store Focuses on Greening Business and Reducing Carbon Footprint In 2007, SSC conducted a Green Office Audit for Margaritaville, helping them to create a sustainability policy that provided a positive social and environmental influence for the Key West community. SSC spent two days onsite with the company and hosted a store-wide workshop on the concept of sustainability. As part of the audit, SSC conducted a carbon footprint analysis, developed a sustainability action plan, and provided a strategy document explaining the larger opportunities to embrace sustainability. Services provided also included a carbon footprint analysis, sustainability action plan, and stakeholder communications. The following is an article by Key West Citizen Staff, Anne-Margaret Sobota that summarizes the Margaritaville sustainability journey: “The Green Mile: Key West Business Goes the Extra Mile to Operate with the Environment in Mind” It’s hard to hear the word Margaritaville without the melody “Wasting away again in Margaritaville... ” drifting to mind. But Margaritaville is trying to convince its employees and customers not to “waste away” if they can help it. Margaritaville Store employees have been working with a sustainability consultant to find ways to “green” the business and reduce its carbon footprint. Sunshine Smith, who runs Margaritaville Store operations, said the company always has operated with the environment in mind, but wondered if more could be done. “We always did recycle,” said Denise Di Salvo, a Margaritaville Store employee and member of its Giving Back Committee, “It just wasn’t as formal or as organized.” A year ago, the Giving Back Committee decided to add Environmental Giving to its program of donating 5 percent of net profit back to the community every month.

There''d have to be a bar right on the beach complete with ceiling fans and cigarette smoke - a bar like the one in the movie To Have And Have Not. Hoagy Carmichael would play the piano while Lauren Bacall sang. Humphrey Bogart would be sitting alone at the end of the bar, just taking it all in. I''ve been looking for a town like that, a real Margaritaville, for years now-maybe ever since I was a kid and my grandfather explained to me that you could trace a line on a map from our home near Mobile Bay, Alabama, across the ocean and wind up at some of the most exotic places on earth. Later on I majored in history at the University of Southern Mississippi, and I became fascinated by the history of the Caribbean. By then my mental image of Margaritaville had grown more complex. I took ele- ments from books like Herman Wouk''s Don''t Stop The Carnival, which is about a New York public relations man who buys a bar on a fictitious tropical island. Then there were movies like Donovan''s Reef, and the TV series Adventures In Paradise, which really influenced me at a young age.

Summertime! 213 North Front Street I remember when just the thought of summertime was enough to brighten my day. As one with a mid-summer birthday Harrisburg, PA 17101 (July 24), I always anticipated the lazy, hazy, crazy days. It was not uncommon to be away on vacation for my birthday, (717) 232-7536 oftentimes relishing in the fun of Myrtle Beach. I continue to go to Myrtle Beach as an adult, though not as frequently, and I now truly appreciate why my father was exhausted after spending a week at the beach with three boys! I have but one child, who is now 22, but he possessed the energy and enthusiasm of a boy; and that's why they have a Margarittaville Board of Directors at Broadway on the Beach! Brett M. A couple of weeks ago, the Young President Lawyers hosted the annual volleyball picnic at the Postal Grounds. Kim, Amanda, Leslie, Nicole, and a host of other Young Lawyers did a fantastic job this year! I had the opportunity to wander around and talk with people and enjoy the Jonathan W. Kunkel company of colleagues and friends... and to meet some new friends. There is nothing quite like a picnic to set the tone for President Elect the summer.
