Press Release Lausanne, February 12, 2013 Press release Inferno Festival 2013: The label Season of Mist invites itself to Le Romandie in Lausanne for a not to be missed opening night! After announcing the festival’s program at the DOCKS and at the Château de Chillon, here comes the Romandie, a venue which will welcome the label Season of Mist and two of its top-grade representatives, Hell Militia (FR) and Imperium Dekadenz (DE), Thursday March 14, 2013. THE NIGHT IN DETAIL SEASON OF MIST OPENING NIGHT HELL MILITIA – (FR) Formed in 1999 by experienced hands (Hell Militia shares its members with Arkhon Infaustus & Temple of Baal, among others) the band comes from the French brutal black scene and allows no escape in front of the density of its dark and powerful sonoritites. Their last album, «Jacob’s Ladder» is a model of classical black metal and is marvellously well executed. http://www.hellmilitia.net IMPERIUM DEKADENZ - (DE) Formed in summer 2004 in Germany, Imperium Dekadenz took their name from a particular affection for the Roman Empire as well as the ancient Norwegian intellectual guides. The Germans will bring their atmosferic melodies and destructing riffs to the Romandie, spreading fire, war and destruction along their way. http://www.imperium-dekadenz.de Learn more about the label Season of Mist here: https://www.facebook.com/seasonofmistofficial/info PRESALES Tickets are on sale on https://www.petzitickets.ch/event_description.php?event_id=25254 PRICE: CHF 15.- (CHF 10.- for those who have an entry for the WARDRUNA – GJALLARHORN concert at the Château de Chillon). www.leromandie.ch www.infernofestival.ch 1/Press release Inferno Festival 12.02.2013 THE PROGRAM OF THE INFERNO FESTIVAL 2013 AT A GLANCE Château de Chillon Thu March 14, 2013 Doors 6PM / Concert 7PM WARDRUNA – GJALLARHORN FEAT. In March 2012, the Lausanne district of Sévelin lived a memorable second edition which sold out and welcomed more than 2,000 people from all over Switzerland and abroad (Brazil, USA, India). Thanks to Swiss and international headliners such as IMMORTAL and MESHUGGAH, and new collaborations started in French Switzerland (EJMA, Lausanne Tourism Dém'ART, CMA Foundation, Giger Museum) to offer much appreciated lectures and performances, the event took a new dimension. Besides a definitely metal line up that should thrill all the fans of this style of music (and there are plenty of them in Switzerland!), the Inferno Festival is also a multidisciplinary cultural event in the broadest sense (music, modern dance, photography, plastic arts), open to the world and others. Indeed, each year, exhibitions, performances and lectures are offered to the public, in addition to the concerts performed at the DOCKS. This wish to open up the genres and to take a cultural and social dimension enables the event to appear as a forum dedicated to an extremely creative and dynamic style. They will present their new album «Runaljod – Yggdrasil» as a world premiere and in the band’s basic formation (without Swiss Alphorns). Unite the culture and the tradition of horn of Switzerland and Norway By inviting Swiss Alphorn musicians into WARDRUNA’s Norse instrumentation, this project aims at bridging Switzerland and Norway together, two countries made of mountains, forests and glaciers where culture and exceptional natural landscapes are intimately linked together.

• Experience the Viking Age in Nordfjordeid, Norway
The Myklebust ship, one of the world's largest Viking ships. Copyright: Ruben Soltvedt. May 10, 2019 12:56 CEST Experience the Viking Age in Nordfjordeid, Norway Sagastad, a brand-new knowledge center focusing on the Viking Age opens in Nordfjordeid, Norway, on the 10th May 2019. With one of the country’s richest, largest and most spectacular Viking graves in the center of the town, Nordfjordeid is the obvious location for Sagastad. At Sagastad visitors will be able to explore the 30 meter (100 ft) long Myklebust ship, one of the world’s largest Viking ships that has been found traces of in Norway. The center provides information on the mystics and the rituals of the Viking voyages and Norwegian cultural history. Skilled and experienced boatbuilders from Bjørkedalen have worked for several years on reconstructing the Myklebust ship the way they believe it could have looked like over 1000 years ago. Bjørkedalen is a place that holds long and strong boatbuilding traditions since the Viking Age. To this day they are still building Viking ships and other wooden boats from material from the local forest. The reconstructed Myklebust Ship. Copyright: Ruben Soltvedt. From a Viking Age society that left traces of a mighty ship, to a rebuilt seaworthy ship which you can explore with all your senses. The “King’s ship” is reborn and will be the crown jewel of Sagastad knowledge and activity center. The research at Sagastad is a cooperation with the University of Bergen. The Myklebust ship will be surrounded by interactive exhibitions showcasing the findings from the Viking Age in Nordfjordeid.

  • Hello Dayal! Let's Go Back to the Beginning When the Idea of Evolution of the Cult Was Born. Why Did You Choose Black Metal?
Hello Dayal! Let’s go back to the beginning when the idea of Evolution of the Cult was born. Why did you choose Black Metal? There are so many kinds of metal and you chose only one? I didn’t have a particular desire to write a book before that so it wasn’t like I was looking for possible subjects, rather it was the other way around - ie. that my fascination with black metal actually made me want to write a book in the first place. But I think it was also more important to write a book about black metal than any other genre at that point because so many other people were writing books, articles and making films about the genre, and the truth in the genre was being lost because mostly these people were outsiders to the movement. A very different situation to that of, say, death metal, which has several good and accurate books written by people from the scene. So my aim with Evolution of the Cult was to finally give the artists involved a proper voice and tell the real story of how this genre was born and developed. Structural composition of black metal joins primitive and multilayer set up. From one side it is an anti-these and from the other it is like tornado, which destroys everything in its path. Composition is as important ad the delivery. Can black metal exists if we remove one piece of the two elements of this music? I think what makes black metal the most fascinating genre of metal is that it is full of these opposing and contradictory tendencies.
