TRUTH CORRODED BIOGRAPHY 2018 Drums: Jake Sproule, Vocals: Jason North, Guitar: Trent Simpson, Bass: Greg Shaw, Lead Guitar: Chris Walden TRUTH CORRODED are an Australian band with a sound that captures elements of late 80's/early 90's inspired thrash and death metal, shaped by the likes of bands such as SLAYER, OBITUARY, SEPULTURA, KREATOR and EXHORDER, and then later influenced by acts such as MISERY INDEX, BEHEMOTH, NEUROSIS, DECAPITATED and REVOCATION. Taken together the influences have shaped a sound that is as confronting as the subject matter of the bands lyrics and pays homage to the go for the throat savagery of the bands roots. TRUTH CORRODED signed with leading US extreme metal label UNIQUE LEADER RECORDS which led to the release of the album titled 'Bloodlands' which was released in March 2019. Based on themes surrounding war and displacement, the album depicts the state of our times and the social and political impact that is having both in the bands home country Australia and abroad. The title refers to the growth of new conflict from conflicts past, with the suffering it creates spreading its roots. The album was recorded with session drummer Kevin Talley (SUFFOCATION, DYING FETUS, CHIMAIRA) – his third album with the band – and was mixed and mastered by renowned heavy music producer Chris 'ZEUSS' Harris (HATEBREED, SOULFLY, REVOCATION). The album also features guest appearances by Stephen Carpenter of DEFTONES, Terrance Hobbs of SUFFOCATION, Mark Kloeppel of MISERY INDEX and Ryan Knight, ex-THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER/ARSIS. Publicado por: Joaquín Borges-Triana Los que gustan de hacer headbanging y un buen mosh estarán de plácemes ante el nuevo disco de Trivium, el álbum titulado The sin and the sentence, y que es el octavo grabado en estudio durante la carrera de esta banda estadounidense. Por mi parte, debo decir que me encantó la propuesta del grupo del vocalista y guitarrista Matt Heafy, porque ella me retrotrae a la época dorada del thrash metal, estilo surgido en el decenio del 80 en la corrosiva y maravillosa ciudad de San Francisco, sitio de suma importancia para la historia del rock y del metal. Publicado por el sello Roadrunner Records, el CD contiene 11 piezas a través de las cuales apreciamos una muy llamativa mezcla entre elementos de Thrash Metal y componentes del metalcore, lo cual le confiere al fonograma una sonoridad bien moderna y en la que se consigue la unión entre llamativas líneas melódicas y el sentido oscuro característico de las tendencias extremas del metal. Según mi parecer, he ahí la clave de un material como The sin and the sentence, resultado también de los buenos oficios del productor Josh Wilbur. Para ese nuevo disco, la alineación de Trivium la conforman el ya aludido Matt Heafy como figura frontal de la agrupación, Corey Beaulieu en los trabajos vocales y como integrante de la mancuerna de guitarras el bajista Paolo Gregoletto y una nueva adquisición, Alex Bent en la batería. -

Helloween – Sascha G. interviewt Sascha G. Martin Häusler Viele Fans „anspruchsvoller“ Musik, die Mitte der 1970er geboren sind, dürften in ihrer Jugend ihre ersten Erfahrungen mit Dreizehn-Minuten-Songs, virtuosen Performances und episch aufgebauten Kompositionen voller thematischer Wechsel und Entwicklungen mit den beiden „Keeper Of The Seven Keys“-Alben von Helloween gemacht haben. Metal-Alben, die weit mehr boten, als der Metal der späten Achtziger für gewöhnlich zu bieten hatte und konsequenterweise auch außerhalb des Spartenpublikums viele Fans gewannen – ähnlich wie fast zeitgleich Die Toten Hosen im Punkrock. Wo „die Hosen“ allerdings zum Unmut der Altfans beständig diesen Anspruch weiterverfolgten, verloren Helloween das Mainstream-Publikum bei Line-up-Wechseln und nach dem experimentellen (aber großartigen!) „Chameleon“-Album. Die folgende Rückkehr ins Metal-Genre hielt die Band am Leben, aber eine ganze Reihe Nachwuchsmetaller, die ihrerseits hörbar von Helloween beeinflusst waren, zog langsam an den Innovatoren vorbei. Doch Helloween haben sich in ihrer seit 2005 beständigen Besetzung mit großartigen Alben stetig ihren Platz zurückerkämpft, und als 2016 mit Kai Hansen und Michael Kiske die beiden Ex-Sänger der Band wieder zum festen Line-up stießen, fanden sich Helloween plötzlich genau da, wo sie 1989 gewesen waren: auf der Höhe einer Erfolgswelle. Nun erscheint das erste gemeinsame Album der siebenköpfigen Schlüsselmeister-Truppe – und Gitarrist Sascha Gerstner hat sich die Zeit genommen, Prog-Betreuer Sascha G. (nicht verwandt oder gar identisch), alles Wissenswerte zum „Helloween“-Album zu verraten. Die Rezension zum Album (#TotW auf BetreutesProggen.de i.d. KW24) findet Ihr übrigens genau hier!
