Election 2015- Hume Brophy Daily Update - 10 14 April 2015 A big day ahead with the launch of the Green and Conservative manifestos this morning. After Labour released their plan for Government yesterday in its widely praised manifesto, can the Conservatives and the Greens pull something out of their hats? Early tip offs include extending the right to buy scheme by the Conservative whilst the Green Party are calling for a ‘peaceful political revolution and an end to austerity.’ Business Today Polls On the campaign trail For the Diary Business Today Prime Minister David Cameron launches the Conservative Party 2015 General Election manifesto in Swindon (11:00am) Natalie Bennett and Caroline Lucas launch the Green Party 2015 General Election manifesto in Dalston in London (10:00am) Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has announced Liberal Democrat plans for house building Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls participates in a Board of Deputies and Jewish Leadership Council question and answer session in London Business Secretary Vince Cable, Business Minister Matthew Hancock, shadow business secretary Chuka Umunna take part in a General Election hustings on the business agenda organised by Grant Thornton (8:30am) Business Secretary Vince Cable also participates in a general election hustings in Twickenham (7:30pm) Education Secretary Nicky Morgan attends an election question time event in Loughborough (6:00pm) Shadow justice secretary Sadiq Khan launches the Labour Party 's black, Asian and minority ethnic manifesto in Leicester Civil Justice and Legal Policy Minister Lord Faulks, Justice and Civil Liberties Minister Simon Hughes and shadow minister for justice Andy Slaughter speak at a JUSTICE event on manifesto commitments for the justice system (6:00pm) Care Minister Norman Lamb participates in a general election hustings in North Norfolk (7:30pm) Shadow employment minister Stephen Timms and Baroness Thomas participate in a Disability Benefits Consortium event on disabled people (7:00pm) Caroline Lucas participates in a general election hustings in Brighton Pavillion (7:00pm) UK Independence Party deputy chairman Suzanne Evans and Patrick O'Flynn MEP campaign in London on protecting England's 'green and pleasant land' (8:30am) Scottish Labour Party leader Jim Murphy campaigns in Cumbernauld (11:00am) Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie speaks in Fife about economic progress (11:00am) Polls ICM, Populus and Lord Ashcroft all published polling this morning, all with varying degrees of results. ICM puts the Tories at a 6 point lead over Labour at 39% to Labour’s 33%. Populus on the other hand have the Tories and Labour neck and neck at 33% each with the other parties staying where they are. Lord Ashcroft has the parties at level pegging as well, with both Labour and the Tories also on 33% each. However taken as a poll of polls, the Conservatives have a 1 point lead over Labour with the Lib Dems not gaining or losing. No great change in the overall polling numbers. The t-shirt is similar to the one he and other party leaders wore during the feminism debate last year. @GeneralBoles Farage is big in Pakistan? According to Guido Fawkes, Farage and UKIP now have a following in Pakistan. The Royal Disciple Church in Pakistan, have apparently proclaimed ‘our prayers are with you all members of UKIP.’ The Church and its Pastor, Fracis Bashir, have even gone to the lengths of sticking up a poster of UKIP in its church in Lahore. @GuidoFawkes For the Diary The Opposition Leaders debate takes place this Thursday 16 April 2015 on BBCOne at 8pm.
