Since its launch in 2005, the Fair has become a unique event in Croatia where students, pupils and the general public can find information about scholarships and study opportunities in Croatia and abroad. With 48 exhibitors from 12 countries and more than 5,600 scholarships presented, the Fair is the biggest and the most significant higher education event attracting over 10,500 visitors in two days. This year’s Fair presented several significant novelties and innovations: Apart from an ample offer for students and pupils, this year’s Fair introduced a diverse program for professionals in higher education, which included lectures and workshops by distinguished experts, and a round table on current topics in higher education in Croatia and abroad. This year for the first time the Fair was held in two Croatian cities: Zagreb and Rijeka. We hope that in the future other university cities will also be interested in hosting Fairs. Partner Country of this year’s Fair was the USA, a country with over 4,900 accredited higher education institutions and a world leader in science and higher education. This year’s Fair, as all the previous Fairs, would not have been possible without the support of its partners, sponsors and donors. The successful organization of the Fair is the result of IDE’s partnership with over 50 institutions and engagement of numerous volunteers. We would hereby like to specifically mention institutions and organizations which made the Fair possible through their financial support: U.S. Embassy in Croatia (Partner country), National and University Library in Zagreb (Main partner), University of Rijeka (Main partner), Institute of Higher Education, University of Georgia (Strategic partner), Kelley School of Business from Indiana University, U.S., in partnership with International Graduate Business School Zagreb (IGBS Zagreb) (Gold partner); ETS - Educational Testing Service, U.S. and IELTS - International English Language Testing System, UK (Gold sponsor); VERN’ University of Applied Sciences (Academic Sponsor); Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes, Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia, Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Republic of Croatia, Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia, Primorsko-goranska County and City of Rijeka (donors). The Fair was held under the patronage of the President of Republic of Croatia. Other supporting institutions and partners of the Fair ensured Fair’s public visibility and its recognition as an event of national importance. We would therefore like to express our deepest gratitude to all partner institutions mentioned above, as well as, to all domestic and foreign exhibitors and we hope to continue our cooperation in the future.
