The corporation has made fixed-term deposits at banks and purchased bonds. All investments have been made in Danish kroner. The corporation achieved an overall effective interest rate on its investments of 3.7% in 2009 (4.8 % in 2008). Following on from the founding of Metroselskabet, the corporation took over an interest rate swap in 2009 for a principle sum of EUR 135 million. At the end of 2009, this swap is included under long-term debts, with a total negative unrealised market value of DKK 56 million. Arbitration claims The construction contractor from stage 1 and 2A of the Metro, COMET, has lodged a claim for additional payment of around DKK 2 billion. The claim relates to the years 1999 onward and therefore covers a pe- riod when the construction work proceeded without any major problems. The former Ørestad Develop- ment Corporation reviewed the claims and informed COMET that these would essentially be rejected on the existing basis. COMET has subsequently lodged a claim for arbitration. Metroselskabet has taken over the claims raised against the Ørestad Development Corporation. A ruling on the case is expected in 2011, according to the current timetable set by the Arbitra- tion body. A settlement was reached in early 2010 with the Movia transport company regarding distribution of passenger income for the period 2005-2007, after Movia had raised an arbitration claim against Metro- selskabet. The construction contractor from stage three of the Metro, Hoffmann/Arkil-Novejfa, has lodged a claim for additional payment in connection with the con- tractor's final settlement of around DKK 81 million. Metroselskabet has reviewed the claims and informed the contractor that they must essentially be rejected. The contractor has lodged a claim for arbitration. The ruling of the Court of Arbitration is expected in 2011. The construction of Cityringen's 17 new metro stations and the testing of the system and the driverless trains is now very close to being completed. This means that the largest unified construction project in Copenhagen in 400 years will soon be completed.     Transport-og Energiministeriet Københavns Kommune Frederiksberg Kommune Etablering af en Cityring Regeringen, Københavns Kommune og Frederiksberg Kommune har indgået aftale om at udvide den nuværende Metro med etablering af en Cityring i København. Cityringen skal gå i en tunnel under City, brokvartererne og Frederiksberg. Cityringen får 17 underjordiske stationer af samme type, som kendes fra for eksempel Kongens Nytorv. Cityringen får en linieføring, der dækker følgende stationer: Københavns Hovedbanegård, v. Rådhuspladsen, v. Christiansborg, v. Kongens Nytorv, v. Frederikskirken, Østerport Station, v. Trianglen, v. Poul Henningsens Plads, v. Vibenshus Runddel, v. Rådmandsmarken, Nørrebro Station, v. Nørrebros Runddel, v. Landsarkivet, v. Aksel Møllers Have, Frederiksberg Station, v. Platanvej samt på Vesterbro (v. Tove Ditlevsens Plads, v. Enghave Plads eller v. Otto Krabbes Plads). Stationsplaceringen på Vesterbro skal fastlægges nærmere i det videre forløb. Med en Cityring bliver København og Frederiksberg en banebetjent by. I kombination med S-togslinierne og Metroens etape 1-3 kommer der er et finmasket banenet i centrum af hovedstaden. Det betyder, at cirka 85 procent af alle boliger, arbejds- og studiepladser i de tætteste bydele ligger indenfor 600 meters afstand af en Metro eller S-togsstation. For de fleste bliver der mindre end 10 minutters gang til den nærmeste station. I alt vil 180.000 beboere og 187.000 arbejdspladser/studiepladser være i gangafstand fra en Metrostation på Cityringen. Cityringen vil fuldt indkørt få cirka 275.000 passagerer om dagen og samtidig øges passagerantallet på de eksisterende metrolinier lidt. Cityringen bliver en central del af byens kollektive trafik med tog med få minutters mellemrum og korte rejsetider. Cityringen åbner omkring 2017.
