Arrangements for the funeral of Kenneth Horton Tuesday 29th May 2018 at Midday at Cookhill Village Hall Family and friends are gathering at Cookhill Village Hall to acknowledge Ken's death, and to celebrate his life. A farewell service will take place in the village hall, starting at midday. After the service, those that wish to, will travel in convoy for the short distance from the village hall to Westall Park Natural Burial Ground. Here a few more words will be spoken before Ken is laid to rest. Refreshments will be served back in Cookhill Village Hall after the burial from around 2pm. The service and burial will be quite informal and will be wholly reflective of Ken. Cookhill Village Hall – from midday Address: Cookhill Village Hall, Evesham Rd, Alcester, Worcs, B49 5JS Directions and map on next page Westall Park Details – from around 1pm Address: Holberrow Green, Nr Redditch, Worcestershire, B96 6JY Directions and map on next page Dress Code Westall Park is a field which can get muddy, so suitable footwear is advisable. Equally in hot weather the long grass can hide flies and midges so fly spray can be useful, along with hats and sunglasses. There is no particular dress code for the day, please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Flowers / Donations Ken's family ask that if you bring flowers they are only a simple stem or posy picked from your own garden. If you would like to make a donation in Ken's memory, we will be holding a collection on the day of the funeral for Cerebal Palsy Midlands, the charity that supports Nick Cookhill Village Hall The hall is situated on the A441 in the village of Cookhill. When you have come through Astwood Bank on the A441 carry on along this road. You will drive past a pub called the Nevill Arms on your right. The village hall is about 1km further along on your right. Westall Park Details Leaving the village hall, head back towards Astwood Bank. At the Nevill Arms turn left onto Salt Way. After about 800 metres turn left onto the B4092. After about another 800 metres you will see Westall Park entrance on your right..

In Inkberrow, Cookhill, Kington and Dormston Inkberrow Eagles Girls FC MAY 2021 Tuesday Afternoon Tea Club In March this year the “T” Club celebrated its 10th Anniversary. To mark this occasion the Parish Council has granted permission for daffodils to be planted under the trees along Chestnut Lane. This area is the “SHOP FRONT” of the village and we plan to enhance its beauty each spring. If you have not already donated towards this project and you would like to contribute perhaps in memory of a loved one please can you pop your donation through my letter box. Cheques if possible made payable to the Tuesday Afternoon Tea Club no later than Saturday 8th May 2021. Please include your name and address to receive a receipt for your donation. Environmental Character Area Profile for the Minerals Local Plan: 14. East Wychavon 1. Introduction 1.1. Minerals development usually takes place on previously undeveloped land and can therefore result in permanent change to the natural environment and green spaces in Worcestershire. The impacts of both the working and the restoration of mineral sites need to be considered in detail in the development of the Worcestershire Minerals Local Plan (the MLP). 1.2. The Council will take a 'green infrastructure' (GI) approach to considering these impacts. The GI approach is a different way of thinking about the green spaces in Worcestershire. It moves beyond solely considering the environmental benefits of green spaces and integrates the consideration of economic, health and social benefits in the planning and management of green spaces. Rather than considering each green space in isolation it looks at the ways in which individual sites and corridors of green space collectively form the distinctive character of Worcestershire that attracts both visitors and business to the County. 1.3. The components of GI include biodiversity, landscape, historic environment, access and recreation and water (also know as blue infrastructure). The GI approach requires thinking about the environment as an integrated system of stepping stones or nodes in a wider network1. Green infrastructure and mineral workings and restoration 1.4. There is significant potential for mineral workings to destroy existing networks of green infrastructure if the nature and character of these networks is not taken into account. However there is also significant potential to contribute positively to green infrastructure through the restoration of mineral workings.

In Inkberrow, Cookhill, Kington and Dormston “ September2020 THANKS TO THE STAFF OF THE FORGE SHOP, INKBERROW During these days of seemingly unending ‘social distancing’, the one institution in the village which has risen to the occasion and made sure none of us is without essential groceries, plus a ready supply of fresh fruit and vegetables, not to mention such necessities as cleaning products and face- masks, is the Forge Shop. Not only are they supplying essentials, but also the exterior of the building is made welcoming with cut flowers and potted plants, plus compost for garden lovers. The interior of the shop is clearly marked for shoppers to ‘hand-sanitise’ on entry and then walk in the recommended direction for finding groceries, ending with a cheerful, helpful person on the till at the end. Raffle to be drawn on September 30th To celebrate their 2020 Centenary, INKBERROW WI planted 100 trees on the old ‘INKBERROW COMMON’, which for years has been inaccessible to our community after being strewn with tons of builder’s rubble and overgrown with brambles. A generously sponsored digger was engaged to clear the site and with borrowed equipment, a water-trough is kept full for the use of the many villagers who adopted their chosen tree - intending to water it and keep it weed-free. Recently the WI hired the digger-man again, this time to level the ground in preparation for seeding with grass and wild flowers in September.

Warwickshire County Council Archaeological Resource Assessment of the Aggregates Producing Areas of Warwickshire and Solihull Final Report Draft Version 2.0 31/03/2008 By Magnus Alexander with Stuart Palmer and Laurence Chadd Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund English Heritage Project No 4681 Archaeological Resource Assessment of the Aggregates Producing Areas of Warwickshire Summary This document is an assessment of the archaeology associated with aggregate minerals in Warwickshire and Solihull. The project was undertaken by the archaeology section of Warwickshire Museum Field Services, based within the Adult, Health and Community Services Directorate of Warwickshire County Council. The project has characterised, digitally mapped and subsequently analysed the resource, in order to inform the development of both minerals development frameworks and archaeological research, and provide a sound dataset for management and decision-making. This project primarily matched the criteria in Objective 2 of the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund (ALSF; strategic mitigation of future extraction): the analysis of existing data and wider dissemination matched Objective 3 (mitigation of past extraction). This project has used a number of data sources, primarily: relevant geological information, in particular that which is available in digital form from the BGS; relevant archaeological data, contained in the Warwickshire and Solihull HERs; aerial photographic information including additional mapping as part of English Heritage’s National Mapping Programme. The project has resulted in: a corpus of baseline data to inform future strategies; enhancement of the Warwickshire and Solihull HERs; increased awareness of archaeological issues in relation to aggregates extraction; dissemination via this project report, a non-technical leaflet and through the Warwickshire County Council web site.
