The Rowland Unified School District is offering beginning and intermediate level instruction for the following instruments to fourth, fifth and sixth grade students:

In order that you may become acquainted with the Elementary Instrumental Music Program, the instrumental music program staff has scheduled a meeting for all interested parents and students. The meeting will be held on:

We urge you and your child to attend, as it will give the staff an opportunity to answer your questions and clarify many points regarding the instructional program. As a service to our community, we have invited several music stores to bring instruments for display and rental. Therefore, you will not have to drive from one music store to another to comparison shop. You can do this in one place, on Wednesday evening, and choose the instrument most suitable for your child.
The program will be taught at all elementary schools during the regular school day. There will also be an optional Thursday night beginning and intermediate level band rehearsals at Jellick Elementary School in room P4 and the Multipurpose Room. This evening rehearsal is one hour long for each level and will start September 3, 2015 at 6:00 p.m., for beginning band students and 7:00 p.m., for intermediate level band students.
Our Instrumental Music Staff will be working together to ensure an ongoing instrumental music program of increasingly high quality in our elementary schools. The child who learns to play an instrument learns discipline, cooperation with others, and a new way to a richer, fuller life. Participation in the school band will give your child one of the finest kinds of activities. An instrument automatically places a child in an educational and social environment of the highest order, and the knowledge your child will gain will be of value to him/her for the rest of his/her life.

Les pedimos que asistan con su hijo(s) ya que esto dará al personal la oportunidad de contestar sus preguntas y aclarar muchos puntos sobre el programa de instrucción. Como un servicio a nuestra comunidad, hemos invitado a varias tiendas de música a que traigan instrumentos para demostración y para renta. Por lo tanto, usted(es) no tendrá(n) que manejar de una tienda de música a otra para hacer comparaciones. Usted puede hacer todo esto en un solo lugar, el miércoles por la tarde, y puede escoger el instrumento más apropiado para su hijo/a.
El programa se ofrece en todas las escuelas primarias durante el día escolar regular. También habrá un ensayo opcional para banda de los niveles principiante e intermedio el jueves por la noche en la Escuela Primaria Jellick en el salón P4 y el salón de Usos Múltiples. Este ensayo por la tarde es de una hora de duración para cada nivel y será el 3 de septiembre de 2015 a las 6:00 p.m., para los estudiantes de banda del nivel principiante y para los estudiantes de banda del nivel intermedio será a las 7:00 p.m.
Nuestro personal de música instrumental trabajará juntos para asegurar un programa continuo de música instrumental de la mejor calidad en nuestras escuelas primarias. El estudiante que aprende a tocar un instrumento musical, aprende disciplina, como cooperar con los demás y un nuevo camino hacia una vida más plena. La participación en la banda escolar proporcionará a sus hijos una de las mejores actividades posibles. Un instrumento musical coloca automáticamente al estudiante en un ambiente social y educativo de clase más alta y el conocimiento adquirido por él/ella será de gran valor durante el resto de su vida.
