Kinky Boots continues Season Two of six-part “Broadway Balances America” Series

New York, NY - Broadway Across America’s collaboration with the award-winning morning show “The Balancing Act®” on the Lifetime® Channel continues with the second Season Two installment of the six-part series “Broadway Balances America” featuring the 2013 Tony Award®-winning Best Musical Kinky Boots. This new episode debuts on Tuesday, September 22 at 7:30AM (ET/PT) and will re-air on Tuesday, September 28 at 7:30AM (ET/PT).

KINKY BOOTS, presented by Associated Bank Broadway at the Marcus Center, comes to Milwaukee as part of the 2015/2016 Broadway Series. Performances at the Marcus Center run May 31 to June 5. “The Balancing Act®” correspondent Amber Milt hosts this feel-good segment which focuses on Kinky Boots’ uplifting message of embracing individuality and being true to yourself, proving that sometimes the best way to fit in is to stand out! Amber sits down with Tony and Grammy Award®-winning pop icon to discuss the powerful story the show is bringing to audiences across the globe. Viewers will be treated to interviews with Kyle Taylor Parker, the triple threat performer who plays “Lola” on the Kinky Boots national tour, and and Hal Luftig, Kinky Boots’ Tony Award®-winning producers. The segment offers a glimpse into the production’s “Raise You Up” Community Youth Program, a partnership with the True Colors Fund that gives LGBT youth and their allies a look at careers in the commercial theatre industry by spending a day with professionals involved in the show – from the advertising and marketing teams to the dance captain who teaches them how to strut their stuff on a Broadway stage.

The smash-hit musical Kinky Boots brings together four-time Tony Award®-winner (Book), Grammy Award®-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award® winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), and Tony Award®-winner director/choreographer .

Inspired by true events, Kinky Boots takes audiences from a gentlemen’s shoe factory in to the glamorous catwalks of Milan. Charlie Price is struggling to live up to his father’s expectations and continue the family business of Price & Son. With the factory’s future hanging in the balance, help arrives in the unlikely but spectacular form of Lola, a fabulous performer in need of some sturdy new stilettos.

Kinky Boots is represented around the world with the Broadway now in its third year, a North American First National Tour that launched in September 2014, a production that opened in June 2015, a production opening in September 2015 and a Melbourne production opening in October 2016. A Korean production of Kinky Boots ran from December 2014-February 2015. The Grammy Award®- winning Original Broadway Cast Recording of Kinky Boots is available on Sony Masterworks Broadway.

Kinky Boots took home six 2013 ®, the most of any show in the season, including Best Musical, Best Score (Cyndi Lauper), Best Choreography (Jerry Mitchell), Best Orchestrations () and Best Sound Design (John Shivers).
