IN 2018: – 826 became the largest youth writing network in the country. – We doubled our impact in just one year, serving 69,000 students. – 826 New Orleans opened and the network grew from seven chapters to eight. – 826 Digital launched and reached 31,000 students and their teachers in 48 states and 25 countries. 1 Our Mission 826 National amplifies the impact of our national network of youth writing and publishing centers and the words of young authors. We serve as an international proof point for writing as a tool for young people to ignite and channel their creativity, explore identity, advocate for themselves and their community, and achieve academic and professional success. Writing is a tool that can unlock opportunities that lead to academic and professional success.
